Itโ€™s that time of year again! Louise is an elderly ewe, around 11years old and prefers to be sheared while standing. Just calm and steady in a dignified manner while being reassured by Nick. Pepper thought she should be next! 4 more to go and then on to the llama haircuts ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿฆ™

Our Story

Pole Rue Farm is a non working farm in an idyllic location with seven llamas & some pet chickens. It is the only property along a no through lane, surrounded by beautiful countryside. Bluebell Cottage & Rose Cottage are two newly converted self catering holiday cottages situated in the grounds of Pole Rue Farm. Each cottage accommodates 4 guests & a cot is available if required. With so many great walks on the doorstep one well behaved dog is welcome in each cottage free of charge by arrangement. The cottages are individually decorated, contemporary in design and fitted to a high standard, with natural stone and oak flooring downstairs. Each cottage has two bedrooms, a double and a twin, and a bathroom with shower over bath upstairs. Downstairs is largely open plan with a kitchen and dining area, and a lounge area with French doors opening onto the south facing patio with table & chairs for alfresco dining. There is also a downstairs cloakroom. The kitchen is fully fitted and well equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine, cooker, fridge/freezer and microwave etc. The living room has television, DVD player and music system. Each cottage has Wi-fi internet. Both cottages are fully double glazed, well insulated with oil fired central heating and a cosy wood burning stove making the perfect place to stay at any time of year. Each cottage has a generous garden area with a further lawned area for family games, picnics or just to relax. The owners Nick & Leigh White live in the farmhouse so are always around to offer help or advice on places to visit in the area. They have some chickens which live happily in the orchard 7 delightful pet llamas. They never say no to a bit of chopped carrot! Situated near the Somerset, Devon, Dorset borders there are many attractions in the area such as Lyme Regis, the Jurassic Coast, N.T. Properties, Montecute House & Gardens, Barrington Court, Forde Abbey, Exeter Cathedral, Exmoor, Dartmoor, Fleet Air Arm Museum, Haynes Motor Museum, Sidmouth Donkey Sanctuary & plenty to do for all ages & interests. The Blackdown Hills are very popular with walkers & cyclists too. Nearby is the town of Chard with many shops and general facilities, including an excellent choice of takeaways and supermarkets. A little further afield is the pretty town of Ilminster with many small independent shops. Around 10 miles away is the county town of Taunton which is a great place to shop, with plenty of choice of shops and restaurants. The Cathedral city of Exeter is around half an hour drive.
