The Moroccan Sahara, stretching across the southern reaches of Morocco and forming part of the vast Sahara Desert, is a landscape of striking contrasts and quiet grandeur, defined by sweeping dunes, rugged hamadas, and scattered oases. Despite its harsh conditions, the Moroccan Sahara supports a surprising array of wildlife, all adapted to survive the desert environment, providing a unique insight to what life is like in one of the worlds most formidable regions.

These striking photographs were taken by guest Adam Court on our new ‘Wildlife of the Moroccan Sahara’ holiday. Thank you for sharing, Adam!

Panama’s tropical forests and wetlands are home to a staggering diversity of birds– including some of the finest species in the Americas. The highland cloudforests of Chiriqui rival those of Panama’s better-known neighbour, Costa Rica, and offer many similar species, including the sought-after Resplendent Quetzal and Three-wattled Bellbird – but without the crowds. These fantastic images were taken by guest Robin Lee, who travelled on our new ‘Western Panama’ itinerary, combining the Chiriqui Highlands with the beautiful Caribbean coastline of Tranquilo Bay.

Wild Baltic: Forests, Flyways and Hidden Fauna

Often overlooked in favour of Europe’s better known wildlife destinations, the Baltic States – Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania – reward the curious naturalist with a rich blend of forests, wetlands and coastline and a remarkably intact natural heritage. The region supports a wealth of wildlife, from large mammals such as Eurasian Lynx, Elk, Brown Bear, and Wolf, to an impressive range of resident and migratory birds. Despite sharing similar characteristics on the surface, each country also possesses its own distinct landscapes and ecological character, making them well worth exploring individually.

Back in March, our first ‘Realm of the Iberian Lynx - Photography Special’ took place, to tremendous success! Based in the Andujar Mountains in southern Spain, guests have access to a specialist photography hide, providing the opportunity for multiple close sightings of Iberian Lynx. One lucky encounter involved the successful hunt of a European Rabbit – a magnificent display of one of Europe’s most endangered predators in action.

Our 2027 departure still has spaces available, and we hope that you can join us!

As our 40th Anniversary 'British Isles' cruise approached the Shiant Isles, guests were surrounded by what can only be described as a ‘seabird soup’! Thousands of Puffins and Razorbills could be seen flying from nearby cliffs or feeding in the water, whilst several White-tailed eagles soared overhead.

The ship continued to Orkney, and after several hours of exploring the island on foot, guests returned to the ship for a well-deserved refreshment, when suddenly two Orca were spotted in the bay! The individuals were identified as Hulk and Nött, and are well known visitors to the islands each summer.

Towards the end of last week, our 40th Anniversary cruise sailed North, cruising past Rathlin Island and towards St Kilda.

Rathlin Island rewarded guests with excellent views of Red-billed Chough, Marsh Orchids and even a Corncrake for a lucky few, as well as sunset sightings of Common Dolphins and a Minke Whale!

Meanwhile at St Kilda, our group were treated to a rare hot and sunny day! Guests explored the archipelago on foot and by zodiac, where they enjoyed fantastic views of Gannet at the world’s largest breeding colony – home to over 59,000 breeding pairs!

A big thank you to tour leaders Sara Frost and Matthew Capper for the images!

Since our ‘Go Slow’ holidays were first launched back in 2016, our portfolio has steadily grown, now encompassing some longer-haul destinations including our most recent addition: ‘Go Slow in Colombia’!

Designed for those who want to enjoy Colombia’s fabulous birds without the rush, this holiday is based at a charming coffee hacienda set at 1,350m in the Central Andes. It’s the perfect place to unwind between gentle excursions to renowned sites such as Río Blanco, famous for its antpittas and colourful mixed flocks, and Hacienda Bosque, home to exquisite cloudforest species including Grey-breasted Mountain Toucan and Barred Fruiteater!

These fantastic images were taken by guest John Moulding, who travelled with us in February 2026.
