3 days in Tulum 🇲🇽
Tulum is so much more than Instagram-famous beaches. Spend three days here and you’ll discover a destination that perfectly blends nature, culture, incredible food and laid-back luxury.
Here’s how we would spend it …..
🌿 Stay in one of Tulum’s stunning boutique hotels, whether that’s hidden amongst the jungle with private plunge pools and candlelit pathways, or steps from the white-sand beach where you wake up to the Caribbean Sea.
🎨 Wander through Tulum’s quirky art installations, colourful murals and beautifully designed cafés – every corner feels like a photo opportunity.
🏖️ Relax on powder-soft beaches with crystal-clear turquoise water, perfect for slowing down and embracing the Caribbean lifestyle. (Although this is time of year dependent and I would choose hotel depending on that)
🐢 Head out on a boat to snorkel with sea turtles in nearby Akumal.
💦 Escape the heat with a refreshing swim in one of the region’s incredible cenotes. These natural freshwater sinkholes are unlike anywhere else in the world and the perfect way to cool off.
🏛️ Visit the spectacular Tulum ruins, dramatically perched on cliffs overlooking the Caribbean Sea. It’s one of the few Mayan archaeological sites with an ocean backdrop, making it every bit as photogenic as it is fascinating.
🌮 The food - from world-class restaurants to authentic taco stands and family-run eateries where a few pesos buys some of the best tacos you’ll ever eat, Tulum is a destination worth travelling for with your taste buds alone.
Three days gives you a brilliant introduction to Tulum and the perfect spot to decompress after your flight before heading on to your next stop. However if you also like to stay somewhere for longer it certainly has what enough.
Have you visited Tulum, or is it still on your travel wish list? 🇲🇽
