Royle Safaris

Royle Safaris Royle Safaris excels in providing innovative, quality safaris, wildlife holidays and wildlife tours to some of the most amazing destinations in the world.

With a great selection of wildlife tours tailored to view some of the rarest wildlife around. We specialize in wildlife holidays to countries which are often difficult to get to and navigate around; however it is often these countries which provide some of the greatest wildlife spectacles. All our safari holidays are unique in that they are on a full board basis, with a reference book library con

taining some of the best field guides provided, a DVD library available for evenings and bad weather days which contains wildlife documentaries about the region we are in as well as having and English speaking professional zoologist or local researchers or scientists each day. These unique points as well as using the latest wildlife watching technology, our preference for small groups and even private tours for 1 or 2 people, coupled with maximizing the time spend viewing animals and the fact that a lot of our safaris visit countries and regions not available with other safari holiday providers, makes our wildlife tours and wildlife holidays the best for the wildlife enthusiasts. Travelling to some of the best locations for wildlife watching in the world we maximize the time spent in the field to find and observe the focus wildlife of the holiday; whether this is whale watching, birding or any of our other types of tours. With a qualified and professional zoologist or researcher acting as a guide and es**rt on each tour we aim to provide the best understanding of the animals we see on each wildlife tour safari. As well as having a professional zoologist or researcher on each tour we enlist the best local guides to help us in our search for the most endangered and hard to find animals and the perfect wildlife encounter. Whether it is tracking in the rainforests of Rwanda & Uganda on a mountain gorilla trek or spotlighting during a nocturnal search for Tasmanian devils on an Australia wildlife holiday, we have a wide range of wildlife tours visiting countries all over the world. Combing luxury with a passion for wildlife we believe we provide the best and most comprehensive wildlife tours and wildlife holidays. We currently offer over 50 different expert guided, full board safari holidays all over the world, so we are confident you will find the safari of your dreams. We have some of the most brilliant and unique whale watching tours which focus on the largest animals to share our planet. So if you would like an unique adventure where you could watch orcas beaching themselves onto the beach in search of seal pups in Patagonia or snorkel with huge pods of beluga whales in Canada; of if you would prefer more traditional whale watching for humpbacks, s***m whales, minke whales and even blue whales we have a great range of whale watching holidays where you will find your ideal whale watching experience. When you book any of our whale watching tours or any of our other wildlife watching tours you can be safe in the knowledge that we use professional zoologist or researchers as es**rts as well as expert local guides which increases the chances of finding the target wildlife and getting as close as possible. Our wildlife holidays are constantly being updated with better itineraries and new destinations all the time. We are looking to include specialist tours to find jaguars, Iberian lynxes, orang-utans, clouded leopards and plenty of other rare and endangered wildlife for 2012; so please keep visiting the site to keep up to date with our most current whale watching holidays, wildlife tours and safaris. Specializing in finding elusive tigers throughout their range; we have a variety of different tiger safaris leaving for the central Indian parks as well as other countries where they live; and as a result we have a great chance of finding many tigers and observing some very interesting behaviour! We have an excellent variety of tiger safaris in India, which is the the most common destination for tiger safaris. but you can also track down tiger on foot in Bangladesh, watch tigers from elephant back in Nepal and even follow in the footsteps of the BBC series Lost Land of the Tiger and search for the tigers in Bhutan. But our most exciting tiger watching holiday we offer is our Siberian tiger tracking tour which is the only tour in the world which will offer you the chance of finding both wild Siberian tigers and Amur leopards. This tour will be available from 2012 and we cannot recommend this adventure enough. If you do not find the best tour for you in our current holidays, please visit our tailor made tours page and contact us with information about your dream tour and our team of wildlife and travel experts will get back to you with the best safari and prices for you to accept if everything meets your requirements.

Pictures of the Day!
This are pictures from our client (Ilkka Piisijambo) who went on a private tour to Morroco on a specialist herpetology. The trip was unique for Royle Safaris, despite running numerous herpetology tours around the world it was our first in Morocco and we were successful with the target species seen including Uromastyx lizards, various snakes including very nice Desert horned viper and also the common chameleon.
If you are interested in a specialist wildlife tour such as a herping trip, just contact us or visit our website (www.royle-safaris.co.uk/wildlife-holidays/).

Pictures of the Day!
This are pictures from our client (Colm Vincent) who went on a private tour to Uganda and Rwanda on a specialist primate focused trip in August 2025. The trip was very successful with 11 species of primates seen and all seen well and photographed (with the exception of three species of nocturnal galagos).
We run many primate focused trips to both Uganda and Rwanda, sometimes as stand alone single country trips and often combined. We also have options to enjoy these two great countries for other species (not just primates), including our very specialist African Golden Cat Expedition.
If you are interested in seeing the great apes and other primates of East Africa, just contact us or visit our website (www.royle-safaris.co.uk/wildlife-holidays/).

Pictures of the Day! These are some of the pictures taken on Royle Safaris' annual specialist rare mammal tour to Sabah in Malaysian Borneo. This was the 6th year in a row (excluding the pandemic) where we ran this specialist mammalwatching trip.
As we usually do on this trip we visited three different locations, all with their own range of wildlife and particular targets. First there was Deramakot, the now famous location for some of the world's rarest and most elusive species of forest mammals.
We then travelled to the mighty and wonderful Kinabatanagan River, the home of proboscis monkeys and flat-headed cats (among other species), before finishing with a stay in the incredible Tabin Wildlife Reserve. There was also an extension to the Tawau Hills National Park for some of the clients which was ran post tour. The trip was very successful with 50 species of mammals seen including several of the Rare species which we highlight on this tour. Including Sunda Clouded Leopard, Banteng and Sunda Pangolin as well as Pen-tailed Treeshrew & Short-tailed Mongoose and a whole host of more commonly seen species.
The tour saw a total of 50 species of mammals recorded and an impressive 125 species of birds, 12 species of reptiles and 5 species of amphibians. Please read our trip report from this trip and if you have any questions, we have currently filled our 2026 group tour but have started taking bookings on our 2027 trip for anyone interested (we have only three places remaining for 2027), contact me direct or comment here. However we can of course organise private and tailored tours to Borneo.

Highlights including Euasian Lynx, Pallas's Cat, Snow Leopard (mother and cubs), White-lipped Deer, Tibetan Dwarf Hamster, Wild Yak, Tibetan Antelope, Tibetan Gazelle, Tibetan Fox and many others. Along with these mammals there were many bird species also seen (including all of the major targets for the Himalayas and Tibetan Plateau).
We run several private tailored and standard group tours throughout Indonesia every year and if you are interested you can find more information on our website (www.royle-safaris.co.uk/wildlife-holidays/china) or by contacting us. Our next mammalwatching tour to Qinghai is scheduled for July/August 2025 and currently we have 3 places still available.

Pictures of the Day (3 of 3).
In the summer of 2025 Royle Safaris once again ran successful wildlife watching tours to Gabon (two back to back trips). This is a trip report combining both of these trips and including our optional pre-tour extension to Ivindo National Park. As with our Gabon wildlife group tours this one was focused around some specialists of Gabon, including Mandrills, Lowland Gorillas, Forest Elephants, Central African Slender- nosed Crocodiles and other wildlife. Many of these targets as well as many more were all seen on this trip. We visited two protected areas for our wildlife watching, first the incredible and iconic Lope National Park, home to large populations of mandrills as well as many other primates, duiker, pangolins, African golden cats and many forest elephants. the second location is the coastal park of Laongo, where we would track habituated Lowland gorillas and also cruise the waterways of Akaka, a hotbed of Central African wildlife. There is also the optional pre-tour extension to Ivindo National Park for both trips. These trips were guided by Ewan Davies and they had some very cool sightings of rare mammals which are not often seen at all, including Gabon Squirrel Galago and White-legged Duiker. The trips resulted in a total of 41 species of mammals recorded (including 11 species of primates).
Please enjoy these pictures from our clients who went on these trips and if you have any questions or would like to know how you can join our 2027 Gabon Wildlife Adventure, contact me direct or comment here.
