Sometimes it's those small local recommendations that turn a great trip into an even better one.

Markcummingsandgoings , radio broadcaster and travel enthusiast, shared one of his favourite ways to experience Singapore's iconic skyline, an insider tip from our Southeast Asia experts, Ian and Erin.

A huge thank you to Mark for sharing this lovely clip from his travels with us.

Another day in our HA inbox, another day we burst with pride. Well done to our lovely Erin for creating yet another amazing holiday.

From our HA client, Ian:
“From the moment we contacted them about a trip to Vietnam, we knew they were knowledgeable & informative. Erin was excellent in coming up with ideas and listening. The trip was amazing, everything we hoped. All our guides and excursions were brilliant, a real buzz. We learnt so much and enjoyed so much about Vietnam. This was down to Holiday Architects, who know their stuff. Highly recommend.”

Thank you, Ian, for telling us about your holiday. We are so glad to hear you had such a great time.

"We were in the middle of a very enjoyable Connection Day yesterday, when a ripple spread around the room, which soon became a cheer. News was coming in that the FCDO had just changed their travel advice and are no longer advising against travel to the UAE, Qatar, and further relaxed its advice for Oman. Following the change in advice for Jordan earlier in the month, this puts Oman firmly back on the menu, too.

Globally it’s also a hugely significant move because it means you can once again use the Gulf carriers - Emirates, Qatar, and Etihad, for your travels to all points east. These airlines traditionally offer some of the best value flights, and I suspect they might start hitting the market with some very competitive fares to try and win back market share lost over the Iran crisis..."

When flight routes changed, and headlines raised a few questions about how safe it is to travel to Oman right now, Holiday Architects' client, Adrian, discovered that Oman remains every bit as welcoming, rewarding and safe as he'd hoped.

“I never felt that the crisis was overrunning the planning that Emma was organising on my behalf. In fact, during an email to her, I commended her for her efficiency in dealing with what was, at times, a fluid situation beyond her control and her subsequent transparent communications with me.”

Is it safe to travel to Oman right now? Read Adrien’s full, real travel story over on our blog. https://holidayarchitects.co.uk/blog/is-it-safe-to-travel-to-oman

Photograph credits: HA returning client, Kevin.

These incredible photographs have transported us straight from our desks to the South African plains. Thank you so much, Kevin, for sharing such wonderful photos from your trip. All of us here in the HA office have absolutely loved going through them.

Kevin has recently returned from his second trip with us, this time heading to South Africa, which was planned and put together by HA South Africa expert Cat.

Kevin and his wife started in Cape Town, before moving on to the Winelands, and finally arriving at the Pumba Private Game Reserve, in the Eastern Cape, with their cameras firmly in hand! This is an incredibly unique and diverse reserve. It makes for a really convenient safari spot when combining Big-5 sightings with time in the Cape, and it’s even home to the rare white lion!

Have you experienced a safari in South Africa yet? Speak with one of our South Africa experts today; we’re here to create a trip designed exactly around how you like to travel.

The Galapagos isn’t a destination that often goes on offer. Permits are limited, yacht capacities are small, and demand for the best departures is consistently high. Here at HA, we’re always working behind the scenes, chatting with our in-country contacts to ensure we can offer the best possible prices for your holidays.

By working closely with our partners on the ground in Ecuador, our Galapagos expert, Dawn, has secured savings of up to £950 per cabin on selected Galapagos expeditions departing between July and December 2026.

The best part is you get the same expert guidance, carefully chosen yachts, and, as always, a uniquely designed itinerary, just with a little more room left in the budget for that extra night in Quito or a few days in the Ecuadorian Andes.

Of course, choosing the right yacht matters just as much as securing the right price. That’s where Dawn comes in.
She knows these expeditions inside out and can help identify the departures offering the best value, the best wildlife experiences, and the best fit for how you like to travel. Different yachts offer very different experiences; some are better for wildlife enthusiasts, others for keen photographers, families, or those wanting a little more comfort between adventures.

If the Galapagos has been sitting on your wish list for a while, now is an excellent time to start the conversation before these departures fill up.

(Offer available on selected departures booked before 30 June 2026.)

Start your day with a walk along the beach at Bako National Park, then spend some time exploring Kuching’s backstreets and local neighbourhoods. You might spot orangutans at Semenggoh in the afternoon, before choosing a spot for dinner as the sun goes down. In the evening, the lights from the city shimmer across the Sarawak River.

As Erin puts it:
"Kuching is such a conveniently located city for exploring Sarawak's cultural and natural wonders. From here, it's easy to reach places such as Bako National Park, the Semenggoh Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre, and many of the region's indigenous communities."

Give yourself at least a full day here if you can. Most people find there’s more to Kuching than they expected, and it’s easy to wish for an extra night or two.

Thinking about Borneo? Erin would be delighted to help you start planning your own adventure.
