There’s a version of Llandudno that many summer visitors never really get to experience.

If summer feels like it disappeared far too quickly, the last weekend of August is a very good excuse to squeeze in one more coastal break.

Llandudno has plenty happening across the 29–31 August bank holiday weekend, but the best part is that you can mix events with the simple things the town does so well — promenade walks, sea views, cafés, the Great Orme and slow evenings by the coast.

On Sunday 30 August and Monday 31 August, the Llandudno Town Band will be performing free evening concerts on the promenade from 7:30pm–8:30pm. It’s one of those wonderfully simple summer experiences: live music, the Great Orme in the background and the sea right beside you.

If you're looking for something different on Saturday evening, Oliver Bell: ImpossiBell brings a mix of magic and comedy to The Magic Bar Live in Llandudno on 29 August.

There are also plenty of reasons to venture slightly further. Castle Carnival at Gwrych Castle takes place on 29 August, combining live music, entertainment and food in the dramatic castle grounds near Abergele.

Or simply keep the weekend completely Llandudno.

Walk along the Victorian promenade, head onto the pier, explore the Great Orme by tram or cable car, visit the prehistoric copper mines or spend a slower afternoon at North Shore or West Shore. Llandudno gives you the classic seaside experience while still having plenty to fill a full weekend.
