🧀 The Chester Cheese & Wine Tour 🥂
I love it!!! There are people in this world who don’t like cheese or wine (I don’t fully trust them) but it’s an evening I look forward to running every month!

Mystery Cheese Snack and then we headed off

🧀 Stop 1: An excellent expert-led wine tasting from Edyta Szewczak Greenhouse Chester with 3 cheese croquet

🍷 Stop 2: Sommelier chat with Nadia Valen and top wine tasting in the first gallery space plus Cheshire made cheese tasting including Burts Cheese and Anne Clayton’s Crabtree.

🍸 Stop 2 Part 2: Southside cocktail made by the excellent Pietro manager of the Grosvenor Arkle

🥂 Stop 3: Orange wine sample, 2 exceptional wines and baked Camembert at Parmar House introduced by Josh.

Huge thanks to Pickles Chester who always source us the best wine for tasting and organise glassware (trusting), especially with wonderful Sam still out of action ❤️

Think I was a bit wired but enjoyed this week more than almost ANY since I started, even though I was dreading it 😅

Happy more or less weekend! 🍻 In my last Eastgate Clock photo I said the sun would be back.

It will but when it’s raining come on a food tour, it gets you out of the house, you have great food, a good laugh. And I only make you stand in the downpour briefly for Facebook photos (if you want, if you don’t you watch us from the doorway smug and dry)

🍦Trying out a few new things on the Chester half day food tour this week.
Gelato from Turin, marmalade gin, joy bait and had yet another tour guests who’s got a Lego them in the market display.

Food Tour in Gdansk 🇵🇱 I made everyone spend their Sunday eating Pierogi, a lot of meat & cheese and going in for numerous vodka shots 🧀🥨

We learnt about an incredible city through its food culture.

🗺️ Our guide was ace, a great laugh and a local, and explained how what we ate and drank was linked to Gdansk’s past & present. Couldn’t have had more fun.

I have said it before and I’ll say it again, food tours are the best way to explore a city ♥️ We ate in 4 venues we’d never have found by ourselves.

Cheers to the nearly end of the week! 🥂
As well as public tours I also do private birthday tours, special celebrations, work shebangs, any occasion NAME IT, let’s do a food tour.

Private tours mean you can name the day and time and if you want I can suggest a few new indies to mix in with amazing places from my main Chester food tour 🥘

Last week I was so made up with 3 new places we visited :

🍱 An amazing family run Japanese restaurant (doesn’t have to be sushi, plenty of other options!)

🍤 Plus a new, modern small plates restaurant and I had myself crab arancini along some of the group, because in this life you need the odd treat, and I’m weak!

🧀 A brand new basement bar for a British cheese platter

A brilliant Sunday food tour last week, I got to see Dabba owners Rekha and Stephen again, plus the Dabba dog 🫶🏼 and Daisy, a lovely Labrador *

Dabba did so much for me when the tours first started and so it was amazing to have them along ♥️

🍱 Weather very much picking up, praise be, so get booked on a tour and see what Chester’s growing food scene has to offer,

🌸 Along with the scenery, a few stories about the city, a chat and a meander

*as long as everyone on the tour is happy, dogs are welcome along!
