Davies & Foster are furniture designers and makers. With a workshop based in the beautiful city of Chester, inspiration to create is in no short supply. We believe in craftsmanship, design, function and creating a great customer experience. Our latest alcove cabinet set, all ready for Christmas.

Sprayed to colour match Valspar 'Hyde Park', to match in with the wall, and highlight the feature fire place... what an absolutely lovely space to relax in.

Made for a lovely couple in Chester, this is the last fitting job of 2024 for us.

We hung the tv on the wall for this one, giving flexibility when people pop round. Features of the cabinet include a c**k bead frame, classic shaker doors with matching beading detail, a bevel edge worktop and matching base.

The cabinet was the easy bit on this one, the 7 floating shelves took a bit of time to get right as the walls were slightly off due to the age of the house, that's OK though, we like to take our time to get it right 😃

Love this one!.. a lovely single alcove cabinet, adding charm and character to this already stunning living room.

Designed, made, sprayed and fitted by us. Here are some details of what we used:

• Lighting is LED CCT, which we integrated into the shelving. Lighting can be adjusted for brightness and warmth. Supplied by our favourite lighting supplier .co.uk pupp
• Spray finished in 'Inchyra Blue'. This is a great darky blue / grey colour, which is reminiscent of naturally dramatic Scottish skies. This colour is great for a dark and intimate feel.
• Hinges, as always, are from which are the best hinges for cabinets. They come lifetime guarantee, and are both solid and smooth to use, with a soft close that beats all competition.
• Handles are a half moon style called 'Barrington Eclipse' from
• Panels are from Liam is so helpful, great product knowledge and sorts us out with high quality boards every time!

A floating media unit, with oak slatted backs and integrated lighting. Splashes of Farrow and Ball 'Cromarty' supply muted softness which brings the outside in.

With such a large wall, we designed this media unit to be a feature piece. Staying away from a 'square' design, we wanted it to have the feel of it 'reaching' over into the space, thus the overhanging staggered top shelf, the set back slatted back, and the floating base.

It's always exciting when the customer is so open to different designs, we think this hit the mark ❤️

Just a little green. This is our latest bookcase, made for a customer in our home city of Chester.

The colour is 'Secluded Wood' by Behr, which is an American brand of paint. The customer brought the swatch back from America, which we colour matched, and sprayed onto the finished bookcase. The colour is described as sophisticated, bold and balanced, a deep green for creating timeless spaces. We think this description fits the bill perfectly.

We designed this in a classic style, emphasising thick worktops and wide drawers. The brushed satin brass long handles finishing the look.

A few more pictures of our latest wardrobe / coffee station project, designed and made for a customer on the Wirral.

The doors were made by covering the internal panels with Tektura fabric wallpaper, which was then surrounded by a solid brass inlay. The handles were by Hendel & Hendel, called a 'Battersea pull handle' in a dark brushed brass effect, adding a final touch of luxury.

Boards were by finsa, with the paint supplied by symphonycoatings

We used Rubio Monocoat on all the internals, as well as the coffee station back panels. This was custom mixed to complement the room tone.

Definitely some wardrobe and bedroom inspiration to be had on this project ♥️
