Hello, I'm Lionel Little Owl. I'm your neighbour at Elm Croft Holiday Cottage. I'll try to keep you up to date with all the local goings on at Hollins. When you visit, you probably won't see me, as I'm quite shy and retiring, but I do like to have a good natter with the Mrs, so you may well hear me calling.

The risk of wildfires is high. Please help to prevent them by following these five tips if you are visiting the countryside.

1) Leave the BBQ at home and don’t light campfires. They’re not permitted in open countryside in the Peak District National Park.
2) Don’t smoke on the moors.
3) Take all your rubbish home with you.
4) Call 999 immediately if you see any signs of fire.
5) Spread the word not a fire. Share this with anyone you know who is heading out to the countryside and encourage them to leave anything that creates a spark or flames at home.

Please do everything you can to protect people and wildlife in these hot and dry conditions.
