🏆 Applications are now OPEN for the 2026/27 Visit East Midlands Tourism Awards – Derbyshire! 🎉

We are delighted to announce that entries are now open for the 2026/27 awards programme, celebrating the outstanding tourism and hospitality businesses that make Derbyshire such an exceptional destination to visit.

Since launching in 2019/20 as the Peak District, Derbyshire & Derby Tourism Awards, the awards have gone from strength to strength in recognising excellence across our visitor economy. This year marks an exciting new chapter as the awards evolve into the Visit East Midlands Tourism Awards – Derbyshire.

Our Derbyshire awards will run alongside Visit Nottinghamshire’s Visit East Midlands Tourism Awards – Nottinghamshire, with winners from both competitions coming together for a prestigious joint awards dinner in March 2027. ✨

For Derbyshire businesses, the awards will continue to celebrate and champion the county’s exceptional tourism and hospitality sector through a dedicated Derbyshire programme, ensuring local businesses remain recognised within their own destination while also benefiting from being part of a wider East Midlands celebration of excellence.

This new umbrella awards programme brings together Visit Nottinghamshire, Visit Peak District and Derbyshire and Visit Derby to champion the very best tourism businesses, experiences, attractions and individuals across the wider East Midlands region. 🌟

Businesses across accommodation, attractions, food and drink, accessible tourism, business events, experiences and hospitality are encouraged to enter. Eligible winners from each destination awards programme will have the opportunity to progress to the prestigious VisitEngland Awards for Excellence.

The awards showcase the innovation, quality, sustainability and exceptional customer experiences delivered across the region’s tourism industry, while helping to strengthen the East Midlands’ reputation as one of the UK’s leading visitor destinations.

⏰ Applications close at 23:59 on Sunday 26 July 2026.

Promoting the region stateside 🇺🇸🇬🇧 We’ve enjoyed a productive few days at VisitBritain’s trade mission in Los Angeles - promoting the Peak District, Derbyshire and wider East Midlands region to key inbound operators and buyers as part of the UK’s largest ever trade mission to the United States 👏

Greater Together provided a valuable opportunity to promote inbound visits to the region alongside our partners Chatsworth House and Chatsworth Escapes, showcasing our authentic experiences, unique accommodation and trade-ready bookable product to 40+ key travel advisors and 24 tour operators across 3 days.

This activity was supported by East Midlands Combined County Authority as part of our collaborative efforts to raise awareness of the destination on the global stage, increase international visitors to the region and boost the visitor economy.

Alongside a travel advisor immersion event and B2B travel trade workshop, there were many valuable networking opportunities to meet with key US buyers looking for new and unique products for their clients.

The week ended with an immersive consumer activation at The Grove in Los Angeles, which invited the public to take a ‘train journey’ through the UK. 🗺️ Can you spot our Visitor Maps on the news stand? 👀

The US remains the UK’s largest inbound market, with American visitors forecast to spend £7.5bn in 2026, and events like this are vital in building new relationships, inspiring new itineraries and onboarding more regional product for US visitors looking to explore beyond London.

We’re looking forward to working with the partners we’ve met this week to welcome even more US audiences to our region after this fantastic event 👏

🇺🇸 This week, we’re proud to be promoting the destination stateside at the largest ever UK Government-supported trade mission to the United States, VisitBritain’s Los Angeles.

We’re delighted to be flying the flag for the Peak District, Derbyshire, Derby and wider East Midlands region together with our partners at Chatsworth House with support from East Midlands Combined County Authority.

The US is the UK’s largest and most valuable inbound visitor market, with spending forecast to reach £7.5bn this year, with 5.5 million visits from the US to the UK in 2026.

Over the next three days we’ll be meeting senior US travel advisors and tour operators to showcase the region’s world-class landscapes, culture, heritage and unique places to stay - positioning the destination as a must-visit region for high-spending US travellers.

From immersive experiences and literary escapes to bespoke cultural itineraries and set-jetting locations, our region perfectly matches the travel trends shaping the US market.

We’re proud to champion the region on the international stage and inspire more US visitors to discover everything we have to offer - increasing visitor spend, boosting overnight spend and building a strong and sustainable visitor economy.

The Visit Peak District & Derbyshire team enjoyed a day out at Bluebell Dairy yesterday - a fantastic opportunity for our team to experience first-hand some of the incredible visitor offer across the Peak District and Derbyshire 🍦🐮

A huge thank you to Rosemary Brown and the whole Bluebells team for their warm hospitality, and especially to Jess for such an informative and engaging tour!

From their award-winning artisan ice cream, handmade on the farm using milk from their own cows, to their growing family-friendly visitor attraction, Bluebells Dairy is a fantastic example of innovation and sustainable growth in the local visitor economy.

It was inspiring to hear more about their strong sustainability focus, including generating their own power, and exciting plans for upcoming events across the summer - including Highland Cow Week during May Half Term 🐮

A truly brilliant local business and a great day out! 🍦🐄🌿
