This is exactly why I love doing what I do. 💚

Darren & Hayley came to me knowing they wanted Turkey, but with fixed dates, a budget and not much luck finding the right option.

There’s something about an early morning flight that turns perfectly respectable adults into a completely different species. 😂✈️

It’s 4am, you’ve had approximately 17 minutes’ sleep, breakfast suddenly consists of a pint and a bacon roll, and somehow you’ve got more energy than you’ve had all week.

Because once that boarding pass is in your hand… the holiday has officially started. 🙌

Please tell me I’m not the only one who becomes suspiciously enthusiastic at the airport? 😂

✨ COUPLES’ LUXURY CITY BREAK | KRAKÓW FOR £491 🇵🇱✨
Some city breaks are about racing around ticking landmarks off a list.

Kraków feels different. It’s the sort of place I’d rather explore slowly — wandering down cobbled streets, stopping somewhere warm for coffee, discovering a little bar you hadn’t planned on visiting, and then suddenly realising you’ve spent half the day surrounded by centuries of history.

For this one, I’ve found a rather lovely 5-night couples’ escape for just £491 total for two adults. ❤️

You’ll be staying at the 4★ Xerion Hotel, in Old Podgórze, just across the river from Kraków’s historic centre. It gives you something I really like on a city break: a slightly quieter, more characterful base, while still having some of Kraków’s most fascinating sights right on your doorstep.

Step outside and within a couple of minutes you can be in Rynek Podgórski, dominated by the beautiful Gothic-style St Joseph’s Church. Wander a little further and you’ll reach Schindler’s Factory, one of the city’s most important historical museums and a powerful insight into life in Kraków during the Second World War.

Then there’s the Kraków everyone pictures… ❤️

Cross the Vistula and lose yourselves among atmospheric streets, grand squares and centuries-old architecture. Kraków was Poland’s royal capital for around 500 years, and that history is still everywhere — from Wawel Castle to the magnificent Main Market Square, medieval churches and tucked-away courtyards.

There’s even an old legend that Kraków was founded after a fearsome dragon was defeated beneath Wawel Hill. 🐉

And somehow, despite all that history, Kraków doesn’t feel like a museum.

It has brilliant little restaurants, wine bars, cosy cafés and a fantastic evening atmosphere. From Podgórze you can also wander towards the Father Bernatek Footbridge, cross into the character-filled Kazimierz district, and spend an evening hopping between independent bars and restaurants before strolling back to your hotel.

Back at the Xerion Hotel, you’ve got a stylish, contemporary base to return to, with its own restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner — perfect when November evenings call for somewhere warm and comfortable after a day exploring.

There’s something rather appealing about swapping a grey January morning for blue skies, palm trees and a drink by the pool… ☀️🌴
And for under £1,000 for two adults, this little Tenerife escape is seriously tempting.
You’ll be staying at Hotel Palia Don Pedro, tucked away in the laid-back resort of Costa del Silencio on Tenerife’s sunny south coast. This isn’t the part of the island where you’re surrounded by huge hotels and non-stop nightlife. It’s calmer, more relaxed and a lovely base if your idea of a winter break is slowing the pace down for a week.
Days can be as simple as finding a sunny spot around the pool, grabbing a book and doing absolutely nothing for a few hours. There’s a poolside bar when something cold is required, plus activities and evening entertainment if you fancy joining in.
But I also really like the location.
You can wander towards Las Galletas, a traditional coastal town with cafés, restaurants and that more local Canarian feel, or explore the volcanic coastline around Costa del Silencio. And when you do fancy somewhere livelier, Los Cristianos is only around 15 minutes away by taxi, with Playa de las Américas also within easy reach.
So you can have the peaceful Tenerife escape… without feeling stuck in the middle of nowhere.

✨ WHEN JANUARY LOOKS MORE LIKE PALM TREES, SEA VIEWS & A COCKTAIL BY THE POOL… 🇹🇳🌴
There’s something rather lovely about escaping the grey British winter and swapping it for a week where the biggest decision of the day is pool, beach… or spa?
And this is exactly the sort of winter escape I love finding.
The Mövenpick Resort & Marine Spa Sousse has that proper resort feel without making you feel cut off from the destination. Wander through its palm-filled gardens and you’ll eventually reach the sandy shoreline, with the Mediterranean stretching out in front of you. 🌊
The pool area is made for slow days — sweeping pools, palm trees, sun loungers and plenty of space to simply switch off. And if you want to take the relaxation up another level, the hotel’s marine spa offers massages and thalassotherapy treatments for a little added indulgence.
Then there’s the food… and this certainly isn’t somewhere you’re going to be living off the same buffet every night. Alongside the main restaurant with show cooking and themed evenings, you’ve got everything from Japanese sushi and teppanyaki to Mediterranean flavours and tapas, plus several bars dotted around the resort for that all-important holiday cocktail. 🍸
But what I really like about Sousse is that there’s more to it than simply staying around the pool.
One minute you can be strolling along its long golden coastline, the next you can be wandering through the 1,200-year-old Medina, exploring atmospheric souks, tiny cafés and streets that feel completely different from the modern resort area.
And just around 10 minutes away by taxi is Port El Kantaoui — a stylish marina filled with yachts, palm-lined walkways, restaurants and cafés. Perfect for an evening wander when you fancy getting out and seeing a little more.

🏔️ One last adventure before heading home…

Nothing quite beats waking up in a campervan to crisp mountain air, then setting off through Pen-y-Pass, surrounded by towering peaks, rugged landscapes and scenery that makes you want to stop around every corner.

It was supposed to be our journey-home day, but the Chief Child Approval Officer had one final request: she wanted to go on a train. I wanted to reach the top of Yr Wyddfa… so we combined the two.

We boarded the Snowdon Mountain Railway in Llanberis, which has been carrying passengers up the mountain since 1896. At 1,085 metres, Yr Wyddfa is the highest mountain in Wales — and standing at the summit certainly felt like it!

It was windy, cloudy and absolutely stunning all at once. Perhaps not the picture-perfect blue skies you see in the brochures, but somehow that made it feel even more dramatic and unforgettable.

That’s the real beauty of touring the UK in a motorhome or campervan. Your plans can change, unexpected adventures can become the best part of the trip, and your home travels right alongside you.

One morning you’re waking beside a peaceful lake; the next, you’re travelling through mountain passes or catching a train to the highest point in Wales.

There’s something truly special about slowing down, spending time together and losing yourself in the wild for a little while.
