Beachside Retreat is a cosy static caravan, sited at Seal Bay Resort’s West Sands Holiday Park (formally Bunn Leisure)in Selsey, on the South Coast, 8 miles south of Chichester. Beachside Retreat has 3 bedrooms (2 twin bedded rooms and 1 double bedroom), each with heating and storage space. The bedrooms are designed just for sleeping in, with plenty of space in the living area for playing and acti
vities. The galley kitchen is equipped with a full size gas cooker, fridge and microwave and all the other essentials that a kitchen needs (but no dishwasher!). The living area has two lots of comfortable seating, one that fits around the dining table and one that allows for cosy evenings around the gas fire and TV (also converts to a sofa bed). Beachside Retreat has central heating and double glazing throughout – the gas fire is great for chilly evenings. The bathroom is equipped with a toilet, shower and hand basin as well as a heated towel rail. Outside there is a small, enclosed, secure decked area, complete with table and chairs…..perfect for a glass of wine and dinner outside on a warm summer evening and safe enough for the children to play outside while you’re inside. There are loads of extras included at Beachside Retreat, including all bedlinen (with beds made up on arrival – you do need to bring your own towels please for swimming and the beach!), gas and electricity included, and information on things to see and do and places to go. Beachside Retreat is 5 minutes’ walk from the private pebble beach, the entertainment complex and The Oasis leisure complex. The beachfront has recently been redeveloped by the site owners, ensuring safe sea defenses and a great stretch of beach, just for the park’s visitors. The entertainment centre is the home of West Sands evening entertainment – with a huge variety of acts across the season. There are cafes, bars and restaurants here and an amusement arcade which everyone seems to love. Within the complex is The Oasis swimming centre, with a swimming pool, fun splash pool and its very own “lazy river”. Onsite there are also children’s clubs with groups for the under 5’s, 5 – 12’s and a teens hang-out area with staff and activities appropriate for the ages of your children. All of the entertainment, swimming and kid’s clubs are accessible if you purchase an entertainment and leisure pass on arrival. These vary in price, dependent on when you visit, but as an example, a family pass for 2 adults and 2 children (5+) in school holiday time was £85 for 7 days in 2019. We feel that this is great value for money but is entirely optional. Please ask for other pass prices. On site there are a variety of places to eat, a small but well stocked “Nisa Local” store, a launderette, a permanent funfair (separate admission charge - great for the under 11’s), a 6km nature trail, playgrounds for the smaller children and a multi-sports pitch. There’s plenty to keep everyone entertained and loads of bookable activities ( some free - some chargeable)
With White Horse Caravan Park and Green Lawns Park all being part of the Cove Communities Group and within 10 minutes of each other, you can use any of the facilities on any park. The Courtesy buses operate around the site and between the other parks and are free and run regularly, meaning the if you want to go to another park for entertainment, you don’t need to take the car! They even run in the evenings too! Talking of buses, the Stagecoach 51 bus runs from West Sands to Chichester – it takes about 45 minutes – runs regularly and takes you to the heart of the town, where you have enough shops, restaurants and things to do to occupy some time. Chichester Gate Leisure Park has a Cineworld cinema complex, 10 pin bowling, restaurants including Five Guys, McDonalds, KFC, Domino’s Pizza, Nando’s and more! It’s a 5 minute walk from the bus station and train station, with links to great places and attractions all along the South Coast.
