This is Paul, and this photo was taken during the build of Crafty Cottage.

My husband for almost 37 years, and not only my ‘other half’ in life but also my other half in ensuring the smooth running of Crafty Cottages. A builder by trade (Cotswold Build Chipping Campden Ltd) and the person I relied totally upon when things needed fixing!

Paul built Crafty Cottage initially for us to have a little holiday let to offer visitors to The Cotswolds alongside our busy B&B here in Chipping Campden, and before we knew it we had 3 cottages! which was never the plan but has been a great adventure and we have enjoyed every minute.

Sadly Paul passed away very suddenly and totally unexpectedly in March this year, and having the cottages without him around just isn’t the same. This week I handed the reins over to new owners and I am delighted that they will continue as holiday lets - with enquiries through Honeypot Cottages here in town.

This will be my last Facebook post for Crafty Cottages and I can’t leave without saying a huge thank you to followers and our lovely guests over the years, many who have returned time after time and become like friends.

I also want to do a huge shout out to my family for their continued support - my wonderful son Max who, since Paul died has stepped up to take the leading role at Cotswold Build based here in Chipping Campden and working within the Cotswolds. - and my gorgeous daughter Steph, who has taken on a massive challenge in memory of her dad by swimming the equivalent of 102 miles - the same distance as The Cotswold Way. https://linktr.ee/stephwhiteley/

Chipping Campden has a great selection of pubs & restaurants- all within walking distance of the cottages. Today’s lunch was a return visit to Daluigibistro on the High Street - delicious as usual!!

We would recommend booking a table at any of the restaurants or pubs in town to avoid being disappointed !

A big thank you to recent guests at Crafty Cottage for their comments in our guest book, after returning for the 12th time!! (A huge compliment to us and very much appreciated 😊)

Great to read how they got some good local walks in, enjoyed the terrace at The Eight Bells Inn most nights and how they spent lots of money on our High Street!!!! 👍

Another lovely sunny forecast for tomorrow - the ideal kind of day to browse around Moreton Market! (Every Tuesday)

☀️ It’s another scorcher of a day! ☀️

We will be at Moreton In-Marsh outdoor market tomorrow 9-3pm! (We are now located outside of the pharmacy) with our original paintings, prints and some NEW greetings cards!

The weather also looks wonderful for tomorrow for some outdoor browsing! 😎

Accommodation Availability at Number Six cottage:
Arriving Monday 5th July - 1 week stay, 7 nights leaving Monday 12th July.

Number Six is in the very centre of Chipping Campden on Sheep Street within easy walking distance of all pubs & restaurants, historical sites, tea rooms & coffee shops!

This cottage has two bedrooms, usually Super King & double rooms, but the super king room can be provided as twin beds (2 singles) if required. For families we can also provide a travel cot & highchair on request at no extra charge.

Number Six benefits greatly from having a private off road parking space & a small outdoor courtyard to the rear of the cottage off the kitchen where guests can sit & enjoy a glass of wine, a local ale, or a cup of tea or coffee - quite a sun trap when the weather co-operates!

Chipping Campden is a lovely north Cotswold town and a great place to visit. With a wealth of medieval history, fantastic Church & architecture on its High Street combined with small independent shops, family businesses selling local produce and amazing walks around town gasping at the beautiful thatched cottages and English gardens or following a path up into the hills, Dovers Hill (National Trust) and Broadway Tower within easy reach.

For guests who follow the BBC drama Father Brown, maybe they would like to partake a pint in his local pub! - the Bakers Arms in Broad Campden is less than a 30 minute walk away from the cottage door, and the village of Blockley where most of the filming takes place is just down the road!

The glorious sunshine is lighting up the Crafty Cottage door today, and fresh English strawberries are ready to welcome guests, as well as masses of mint in the garden!!!

The weather is amazing, with the hottest day so far this year forecast for the weekend, - they certainly have timed their visit well 👍

Chipping Campden looked radiant in the sunshine today! Blue skies, thatched cottages and cottage gardens. This is the Westington area of town less than a 5 minute stroll from our cottages.

Many of our cottage guests return year after year, or even 3 or 4 times a year! - we loved welcoming recent guests back to Crafty Cottage for their eleventh visit!!! - proof that we must be doing something right 😊

With so much uncertainty remaining as restrictions slowly are lifted (fingers crossed) we are still playing safe to keep our guests safe - so contact us direct for availability enquiries.
