An Ideal Place to Stay!

Ash Tree Cottage is in a quiet valley on the edge of Dartmoor and sleeps up to 8 people in 3 bedrooms, with 2 bathrooms. It has its own deck and picnic area. We've had a very busy summer, so far, with people from Canada, USA, Belgium - and our own UK. The weather has been very good and most of our visitors have spent a lot of time on the farm - enjoying the wild flowers, butterflies and birds (young peregrines, kestrels and buzzards making a lot of noise!) or looking for fossils by the Brook. A new favourite is Truffle - seen here taking my grand-daughter for a walk!

Our spring visitors have been enjoying our bluebell woods (they smell heavenly), lambs playing in the fields and meadows with hundreds and hundreds of green-winged orchids! Now the apple trees are in blossom too - what a wonderful time of year.

Spring is on its way - thousands of snowdrops by the Brook in the wood, Primroses blooming in the hedge banks, Mistle Trushes and Song Thrushes singing in the trees. What a wonderful time to be in Devon!

Nicole, who stayed at Ash Tree Cottage with her family, gave us this great picture of Bramble. Bramble is such a sweet dog that for lots of children, she's the highlight of their stay. Thank you Nicole!!!

It's a beautiful autumn here! The turning leaves are glowing in the sun and the fields are full of beautiful 'waxcap' fungi - not edible, but in every colour, like jewels; they are our autumn 'flowers'! I've been picking home-grown flowers for the cottage; the Rayburn is stoked up with logs and it's really cosy - ready for this week's guests who are here for their 4th visit!
