The amazing scenery of Assynt in all its glory!.... and you might even spot a familiar face... πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰

We are delighted to announce two screenings of Edie on the BBC.

The first one is this Sunday the 14th February at 10:45pm on BBC2.

Whilst we are not yet allowed to roam the mountains, perhaps we can take you to it…at least in spirit. Enjoy Shelia Hancock’s epic adventure in the Scottish Highlands as she attempts to climb Mount Suilven in Sutherland.

Director Simon Hunter said β€œIt’s just fantastic we can bring Edie to a wide audience on the BBC. It’s a miserable time for a lot of people and Edie is unashamedly an upbeat, feel good film. So perhaps we can bring cheer to everyone up and down the country. It’s also valentines day and whilst a happy day for many it will also be a period of refection and sadness for others this year in particular. So I hope we can cheer you all up…because like for Edie, better times will return again."

Sunday the 14th February at 10:45pm on BBC2.

Midday tomorrow.... tune in if you can.... :)

– Wednesday 17th June at 12 Noon
Newton Lodge is delighted to be interviewing Helen Acreman of Split Rock Croft Cottage.

On Highland Lives tomorrow, meet the amazing Helen Acreman of Split Rock Croft in Clachtoll. This working croft juts out into the Atlantic and from here pigs, cattle, and sheep are reared in the most natural and sustainable way possible. Helen is also a pilates instructor and massage therapist and the croft also offers self-catering accommodation.

Tune in tomorrow to hear all about this amazing family who battled the elements and personal tragedy to build a business in one of the most remote places in the UK.

We really look forward to interviewing Helen and to seeing you all tomorrow. It's a story not to be missed.

Just check in to our page at 12 noon 😁

Despite all the news headlines about the harm that farming does to the land and climate and the call to reduce meat consumption... you can rest assured that we are proud of our sustainable farming methods here at Split Rock Croft. Our sheep and cows graze on the hill, on land that cannot be used for growing anything else; in doing so they drastically improve the biodiversity of the hillside. They have helped to encourage the return of a plethora of wild flowers, insects, bees, birds and mammals. Should you choose to eat meat, do so with a clear conscience and simply be aware of where and how those animals have been raised. πŸƒ πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘
