Clackmannan Community Hub

Clackmannan Community Hub Clackmannan Town Hall Trust have came together to put forward the views of the community to create a space for all.

One of the most prominent themes to have come out from the Community Action Plan 2015 - 2020 is the Town Environment and Appearance. Within this it mentions the development of a community space or café to help not only with tourism but with giving those in the community somewhere to go to socialise, take part in other community activities, access internet and seek advice or information. This is so

mething that can only thrive with your community spirit and involvement. You can have your say in what you want this Community Hub to provide. The Community Hub is going to be situated where the Clackmannan Library is currently. The library can be made smaller in order to be incorporated into this café space or alternatively the library can be relocated to another premises within Clackmannan. The project itself is going to be up and running within the next 6 months to a year. If you have any questions or would like to find out a bit more information please get in touch with Beth Corkish who is helping oversee this project.

As you can see work is now underway on the Town Hall. The Town Hall is to be upgraded this year. The upgrade, led by Clackmannanshire Council in partnership with Clackmannan Town Hall Trust, will include a new replacement roof, stonework repairs and cleaning the stonework at the front of the building to improve its appearance.

The scaffolding is now being erected around the Town Hall.
The contractor has confirmed that it will take roughly 3 weeks to completely finish putting all the scaffolding around the building.
There will be cctv installed once the scaffolding is complete.

I’m sad to say we have children climbing on the scaffolding , which is so dangerous as they have not completed er****on of the scaffolding yet.

The contractor is asking if you see the children climbing on the scaffolding and it’s out of there work times , for the safely of the children could you please call the police.
The police have said they will do extra patrols around the main street and the Town hall.

We’ll be using a drone in Clackmannan town centre today (Monday 15th November) to survey the Town Hall.

Pictures taken by the drone will allow us to assess the level of repairs required to the Grade C Listed building.

The use of a drone is an effective way to complete the survey. The drone will take off /touch down from the car park behind the Town Hall and enables the survey to be undertaken without scaffolding.

The survey is taking place in advance of a major repair project, planned to start in the new year. Clackmannan Town Hall Clackmannan Community Hub Clackmannan Community Council Clackmannan Development Trust https://orlo.uk/r4TH2

The Council is still committed to leasing the old library premises to the Town Hall Trust as a Community Hub. However due to the COVID19 public health issue Council priorities have changed. The Council have indicated it will be a while yet before we are back to any kind of normality which would allow full use of the property.

The Council have informed the Trust that they will however continue to keep us advised on matters concerning the Lease of the premises.
