🍻It’s Beer Day Britain celebrating all beer including traditional ales and limited edition craft beers.

June 15th is significant because it’s also the date that the Magna Carta was sealed in 1215 and the charter mentions ale in Article 35:

‘Let there be throughout our kingdom a single measure for wine and a single measure for ale and a single measure for corn…..’

🍺Look out for our local establishments as they celebrate and at 7pm tonight raise a glass and say ‘cheers to beer’! Or post a message on social media with the hashtag

Where’s your favourite watering hole in North East Lincolnshire and why? We'd love to know.

📸 Docks Beers of course! Did you know they do beer tours?

🚴‍♀️Today’s post as part of is our wonderful
🍦Ice Cream on the Prom route🍦

This is a great ride in Cleethorpes to take the kids on as it it's just under 3 miles long and has a stop off for an ice cream🍦

Starting at outside the Meridian Point Craft Centre, it’s a flat route taking you along the coast so has lots of lovely views out to the sea! This is also where the Greenwich Meridian Line runs so don't forget a photo stop. Here's Timmy Mallet when he visited us in Cleethorpes 🙂

The route:
🚴‍♂️Pass the shops on your right and then turn right along Meridian Road, you soon cross over the miniature railway tracks
🚴‍♂️At the T-junction follow Meridian Road round to the right and continue for 500m keeping the railway line to your left
🚴‍♂️Turn left into a car park and head through a gate over the railway line turning left on the cycle/footpath along the dunes. Please keep to the correct side of the path and be courteous to other users.
🚴‍♂️Keep pedalling along this path keeping the dunes to your right. Beware that this path can become covered in sand so please be cautious when riding along here with young children

🍦Ice-cream stop🍦 Enjoy an ice cream or a drink at the café before turning round and heading back

🚴‍♂️At the T-junction keep to the left and follow the path keeping the dunes to your left this time
🚴‍♂️At this junction turn right and head over the bridge, you may need to dismount and walk past the gate over the bridge if it is closed
🚴‍♂️Cross the railway line and turn left heading back to Meridian Point Craft Units and Cleethorpes Coast Light Railway. Why not have a little train ride to round off a great time with the kids?

For extra ice cream fun, go and check out the amazing mural located on the back of The Old Vic.

😎Next week it's the Lincolnshire Show and once again we are joining our fellow Lincolnshire councils colleagues in the Greater Lincolnshire Councils marquee.

Located near the 🎡Big Wheel so easy to spot, the marquee's theme this year is 'Lincolnshire Through Time'. Discover Roman, Viking, Medieval and Victorian eras with exciting displays and activities.

We'll be in the Victorian area with our Victorian Seaside display, showcasing Cleethorpes and the wider North East Lincolnshire. Children and school groups (and adults!) can take part in our giant colouring in activity, grown ups can enter our fabulous competition to win lots of lovely goodies including vouchers for Fish & Chips, a stunning piece of artwork by local artist Vanessa Whittleton, tickets for the Fishing Heritage Centre and a train ride for the family from Cleethorpes Coast Light Railway. Plus we'll have lots of giveaways including our popular Love Cleethorpes bags.
