When I first started in travel, cruise was probably my biggest weakness. I'd never actually been on a cruise ship, so I knew that if I wanted to be able to give my clients the best advice possible, I had a lot to learn.
Over the last few years, I've invested countless hours into cruise training, attended ship visits, taken part in training days and presentations, and most importantly, sailed on cruises myself.
And somewhere along the way, I completely fell in love with cruising. I've genuinely become one of those people who dreams about being on a cruise ship every day! Being out on the water is my happy place, and there's nothing quite like waking up to a new destination each morning or that morning coffee looking out into the vast ocean.
So when I'm recommending a cruise line, ship, cabin, itinerary or destination, it's not just based on a brochure or a website. It's based on training, experience and a genuine passion for cruising.
Just to give an idea:
π’ Cruise lines I've sailed onβ’ Marella Cruises β’ Virgin Voyages β’ Norwegian Cruise Line
And also booked on in the next few months β’ Princess Cruises β’ Havila Voyages
π’ I've also spent a full day onboard these cruise lines, taking part in training sessions, presentations and ship tours β’ Hurtigruten β’ Celebrity Cruises β’ Princess Cruises β’ MSC Cruises β’ G Adventures Expedition β’ Holland America Line β’ Carnival Cruise Line β’ Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines β’ Norwegian Cruise Line β’ Regent Seven Seas Cruises β’ Cunard
And over the next few weeks I'll also be visiting β’ P&O Cruises β’ Oceania Cruises β’ Ambassador Cruise Line
π’ While I was at the CLIA River Cruise Conference this year in Amsterdam I also visited 8 different river cruise ships from Riviera Travel, Avalon Waterways, AmaWaterways, Amadeus River Cruises, Emerald Cruises, Riverside Luxury Cruises, TUI River Cruises and VIVA Cruises.
When you're booking a cruise, it's worth asking yourself a question:
Does the person or website you're booking with invest this much time into improving their knowledge and understanding of the product they're selling? Do they leave their desk to experience it first-hand? Because the difference between a good cruise and the perfect cruise for you often comes down to experience, knowledge and knowing the right questions to ask.
If you're thinking about a cruise holiday and would like advice from someone who's genuinely obsessed with cruising, I'd love to help. π’β
