If you’ve ever bought tickets from the box office of or called up to ask them a question - Mick is the guy you speak to! He’s very much a part of the place and if you do go inside the magnificent toilets of the former church, you may spot Mick in the amazing mosaic :-) Pre Covid, you could sample Mick the Hippy’s famous veggie and bean chilli at events. Some bands had this as a demand on their rider! And during many of my tours, he has kindly opened the doors to Colchester Arts Centre to show the group all around the amazing church-turned-arts-venue and given visitors insight into this amazing building and the vibrant life within it! Here at Colchester Walking Tours, we’re very big fans of Mick and the warm welcome he brings to both visitors and regulars!
All this to say, he has his very own day dedicated to him and his musical penchants THIS SATURDAY! It’s imaginatively called, Mick Fest and the line-up is all specially curated by Mick himself! Go check it out if you’re in Colchester this weekend!

Something about the brilliant Turkish restaurant Mirra having its double doors open onto Colchester High Street which really makes it feel like we’re all on holiday and it really is SUMMER 😎🌺🍹

I love it here. Brilliant food, excellent service and that delicious food 🤤

I’ve forgotten if I posted this or not but a really lovely walk with some language students from Colchester Institute last year! Lots of fun and I hope the tour has helped them in their enjoyment of Colchester 🙂
