The sign said “LOVE IS HERE”… and it really was ❤️

This gorgeous wedding at Gaynes Park in Essex was all about one thing ~ spending as much of the day as possible with the people they love.

And there were so many brilliant moments throughout the day !

With the bride’s Scottish family came some fabulous touches, including her tartan shoes, and perhaps the most determined little wedding guest I’ve ever photographed. The groom’s niece was NOT convinced this marriage should be going ahead & made her feelings very clear during the ceremony, covering her ears and declaring “NO!” 😂

There were fun family photos, Twister for the groom, badminton for the bride & plenty of time simply enjoying the beautiful grounds at Gaynes Park, complete with those incredible distant views towards the London skyline.

Then, after the cake cutting, came the important business of a Guinness drinking race between the newlyweds. Ed taking the glory !

And with the Scottish contingent in attendance, there was really only one way this wedding could end…

A ceilidh! 💃🏻

Everyone threw themselves into it & the dance floor was absolutely brilliant, the perfect ending to a relaxed & family-focused day that was completely full of life.

Turns out the bench was right all along.

Love really was here ❤️

THIS is what happens when you invite all your favourite people to a Tudor tower & tell them to enjoy your wedding !

Set against the incredible Tudor backdrop of Layer Marney Tower in Essex, this was a wedding packed with fun from beginning to end.

The celebrations spilled outside into the beautiful grounds, with a reception full of hugs, huge smiles, plenty of laughter and a VERY competitive game of pe***ng 😆

Then came the speeches…

A game of “Did Sam do it… or not?” revealed that Sam has, apparently, done rather a lot in his time! But amongst all the laughter & revelations came one of the loveliest moments of the day, when Sam gave the most heartfelt speech about his new wife ❤️

And what better way to finish it all than with a packed dance floor & everyone throwing themselves into the party !

Some weddings have a vibe ... this one had ENERGY ⚡️

From the moment these two exchanged vows in the beautiful gardens of Elms Barn, the celebrations never slowed down.

Guests danced through the drinks reception as the saxophonist bounced from group to group, filling the gardens with music & laughter. The speeches had everyone crying with laughter, revealing just enough about the happy couple to keep the room thoroughly entertained [IYKYK] !

As the evening arrived, the dance floor was exactly where everyone wanted to be, proving that the best weddings aren’t about perfect timelines, they’re about amazing people making unforgettable memories together.

Congratulations to these two wonderful humans. What a day it was !

Three years ago they met... and look at them now. 🤍

A beautiful ceremony at Nayland Church, followed by a fabulous celebration at Milsoms Talbooth’s riverside marquee, surrounded by so many wonderful friends, family... and of course, their two adorable dogs! 🐶🐶

With their gorgeous baby boy already stealing hearts, this day was all about celebrating the family they’ve already built & the adventures still to come !

S T A Y I N G C O O L

Staying cool was defiantly the number one motive all day long, as it was HOT !

Everyone was thankful for the wonderful dappled shade the trees gave us & see how many fans [of all kinds] you can find in the photos.

Then, just in case the guests thought they were wam enough they then went on to dance to an Irish Ceilidh Band … although from where I was standing it looks like disorganised chaos !

These two got married on the one weekend where the weather forecast simply said: “Yes” !

Sun? ✔️
Rain? ✔️
Wind? ✔️
Cold? ✔️

Against all odds, the rain gave us a tiny VIP window to capture all the must have photos before carrying on with its dramatic performance !

Luckily, nobody let the weather steal the show. Between dancing, hugs, a few well-earned drinks, oversized coats & a roaring fire pit, everyone stayed warm & the party definitely did too !

I also wanted to thank Claire for all your amazing wedding coordinating before & on the day.

And of course Andy Chambers Photography for being a great wingman

This wedding was all about keeping cool any which was you could, be it with a fan or a beer. But there was also a fab distraction from all of the heat & that was in the form of , working his magic to distract us all from the intense heat of the day !
