Have a day trip and visit his shop or pub!…. He has done sooo much to promote what real life farming faces🫣

Jeremy Clarkson, known for his wit and no-nonsense approach on Top Gear, has recently shifted gears in a surprising way. Since the release of Clarkson’s Farm on Amazon Prime, he has become an unexpected advocate for British farming. With his new series, Clarkson dives headfirst into the realities of rural life at his own Diddly Squat Farm. The show captures the highs and lows of farming, revealing just how gruelling and unpredictable the job can be. Fans are treated not only to Clarkson's trademark humour but also to a raw look at the challenges facing British farmers, from weather unpredictability to low crop prices and government regulations. By showcasing the frustrations and small victories of life on the farm, Clarkson has raised awareness and sparked important conversations about the realities of agriculture in the UK.

Beyond the laughs, Clarkson has truly put a spotlight on the importance of supporting local farms and understanding where our food comes from. His efforts have even been praised by many farmers and organizations who see his influence as a breath of fresh air for an industry often overlooked. Through the show, Clarkson has fostered a deeper appreciation for the hard work that goes into farming and encouraged viewers to consider the struggles farmers face in feeding the nation. In his own unexpected way, Clarkson has managed to make British farming not only relevant but relatable to audiences far and wide. 🧑‍🌾🌾

🌿🦔 It’s Hedgehog Awareness Week! 🦔🌿
Hedgehogs are one of the UK’s most loved mammals, but sadly, their numbers have dropped by over 30% in rural areas over the last 20 years. Loss of habitat, busy roads, and garden dangers are all making life tough for these prickly little pals.

💚 The good news? You can help!
Simple actions like:
➡️ Creating a 13cm gap in your fence for a hedgehog highway
💧 Leaving out fresh water daily
🚫 Avoiding pesticides
🌼 Letting part of your garden grow wild

…can make a BIG difference for our hedgehogs! Let’s give them a helping hand this spring. Join us this week as we share simple ways to protect hedgehogs in the Lower Wye Valley and beyond!

Don’t forget your walking boots when you come to stay🥰

May is 🚶

We have a number of waymarked walking routes that pass through the woodlands of the Forest of Dean, including the Wysis Way.

The Wysis Way is a 55mile, long distance footpath, that connects two National Trails; Offas's D**e Path and the Thames Path.

The unusual name of the trail is a portmanteau, or blending of words. From the names of the two rivers at either end of the route: the Wye and Tamesis; the Roman name for the Thames.

Starting in Monmouth it passes through Highmeadow, Sallow Vallets, and Serridge before continuing on to May Hill and beyond. It takes around 6 days to walk.
