Although the forecast was showing rain each day it was really only 2 days this week and hardly anything to spoil the day. This was great to see, there’s real treasure in Wheel Farm. Amazing to see so many guests this weekend especially with a difficult time for everyone.

Only in North Devon do you get a sunset, a weather forecast with no rain and then heavy rain and hail! So many were caught out but we just made it back!

May be ideal weather for ducks but there’s plenty of sunny spells the forecast never reveals. Are you looking for a place for Easter? We have various cottages still available, all now internal painted and courtyard garden all looking great. Guest will enjoy afternoon tea complimentary with local devon scones from the Combe Martin bakery. Children will have an Easter Egg waiting for them on arrival. Got all the patios cleaned of weeds the last 3 weeks with a team, that was after hedges lowered. Can’t accept anything overgrown !

Successfully connected new washing machine to the Farmhouse now! Ideal, as we have everything now brand-new within the last year, and that should at least ensure that everything is working to its very best efficiency, and of course, not likely to lead to any complaints. We’ve been investing in appliances over the last year to make sure that over the next two years, every appliance, accept cookers will be brand-new. Laundry units x 7 completed.

Have been getting the site ready for Summer. Treehouse parts ordered but will be closed over summer (the original play areas have been repaired). Sad news with inflation right now as costs to maintain what we have is £69,000 more than last year and so far keeping the rates even lower than last year. Looking forward to meeting you over the next few weeks.

Charlie and I visited the Quince Honey Farm this afternoon so we can ensure we recommend it to visitors. I recall the old site many times as South Molton’s tea shop and the old honey shop were great locations to stop with the family on a very long drive to Cornwall.
The new site has been planned out well with a very large play barn for children also offering a good range of menus for children. There is a lot of education stops with learning about candle making, what plants are good for bees, seeds, insects and a beekeeping demo and making your own candles, and tasting in the factory. Lots of hands on things to keep your children active although I personally think older children (mine being 5) would benefit more, there’s a lack of keeping the younger ones busy with a trail or lifting flap kind of fun that age group will benefit from. Amazing shop when you come in but strange you have to go to one for shop items and another for the entrance to the location. There is a loyalty card for regulars to the farm and you can just do the playbarn or get a meal without paying for the access of the attraction.

Overall recommended great afternoon out, I wouldn’t get there before 2pm as when the talks start.
