An amazing way to end the week, watching our Mk IX Spitfire Gate Guardian, adorned by a rainbow.

The aircraft is painted in memory of Air Vice-Marshal James Edgar “Johnnie” Johnson. He was the highest-scoring Western Allied fighter ace against the Luftwaffe during World War II, officially credited with 34 individual victories… with JE J as his initials along the aircraft

Have a great weekend everyone 🙌

🇬🇧 Battle of Britain Day ✈️

Today marks 86 years since the turning point of the Battle of Britain, and we’re honoured that we get to share the skies with some incredible company. This footage brings together the RAF’s own Battle of Britain Memorial Flight alongside aircraft from the Duxford Battle of Britain Air Show, including Spitfires & Hurricanes flown by our civilian counterparts.

It’s a reminder of something we’re proud of: the enduring link between the RAF BBMF and the civilian companies and operators who fly, maintain and keep these icons in the air. These aircraft don’t survive by accident, it takes a shared dedication across military and civilian hands to make sure they keep flying, and keep telling their story.

Lest we forget. 🕊️

What a day at Imperial War Museum Duxford for the Battle of Britain Airshow!

Spitfire TE311 and Hurricane PZ865 have been on static display this morning, before taking to the skies for a fantastic tail chase display - even the RAF Red Arrows seemed to enjoy it ♥️✈️🔊

They just don’t build them like this anymore. 🌟

Talking all things Dakota ZA947 in today’s Reel. This incredible aircraft serves as a flying memorial to the brave crews who flew these unarmed transports through the toughest days of WWII.

Listen in to hear the story behind the tail number and its journey to the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.

Lest we forget. 🕊️

From the absolute scenes at Beachy Head to the historic turf of Shuttleworth, we were keeping aviation heritage alive in the skies. 🇬🇧

Two legendary aircraft. Whether we were routing over the Eastbourne coast, framing the cliffs, dropping into Shuttleworth, or slicing through the Luton overhead, the Spitfire and Dakota recently brought the very best of history to your local skies. ✈️
