The Dakota, Chippy, Spitfires and Hurricanes rest while the team gets ready for 2027, when the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight turns 70. Seventy years of keeping the memory flying. ✈️

🙏 What an incredible day! A huge thank-you to everyone who came out to support us, our members who make all of this possible, and every stallholder who helped bring the event to life. ✈️

Days like this remind us why we do what we do. The crowds were magnificent to see and none of it happens without your support, so from all of us, thank you for being a part of it. 💙

✈️ They’re in! Our visiting Seafire from Navy Wings has joined the Rolls-Royce Spitfire and Harvard seen here alongside the Dak, we are good to go! 🛩️

We were also honoured to welcome AOC 1 Group, Air Vice-Marshal Strasdin, for a visit today.

Long before the gates open, it’s hours of prep, checks and hard graft that makes the roar happen. 💪

Clear prop! ✈️

The countdown is officially ON for the BBMF Members’ Day at RAF Coningsby this Saturday, 26th September 2026!

This exclusive annual event is the ultimate ‘thank you’ to the dedicated supporters of the RAF Memorial Flight Official Club and the Lincolnshire’s Lancaster Association.

If you were lucky enough to secure a ticket, here is the essential info you need to know before you arrive:

📍 Location: BBMF, RAF Coningsby.
🚗 Main event parking is on Old Boston Road and a free Park & Ride coach service will run from 10.00 AM. Overflow parking will be located on Dogdyke Road. Please follow the road signage that will be in place on the day.
♿ Blue Badge Parking: Located at the BBMF Visitor Centre car park, accessed via Dogdyke Road.
🎟️ Please have your event tickets, Photo ID and membership cards ready, and bag searches will be in operation. Please note, Photo ID is mandatory for entry and photographs of your Photo ID as a substitute will not be accepted.
⏰ Timings: Car parks open at 8:00 AM. Gates open at 10:00 AM. Flying is scheduled between 11:30 AM and 3:00 PM (subject to weather and aircraft serviceability).
⛔ Important Safety Info: Dogdyke & Langrick Road is under strict traffic restrictions. Please do not view from the fence line, use the designated “Spotters” car park or the main event site to ensure the flying display goes ahead safely!

Get ready to hear the roar of our aircraft up close.

An amazing way to end the week, watching our Mk IX Spitfire Gate Guardian, adorned by a rainbow.

The aircraft is painted in memory of Air Vice-Marshal James Edgar “Johnnie” Johnson. He was the highest-scoring Western Allied fighter ace against the Luftwaffe during World War II, officially credited with 34 individual victories… with JE J as his initials along the aircraft

Massive congratulations to Tris, the first Squipper in BBMF history to complete a see-off with AB910 🏆
