We’re busy renovating Damson Cottage, our brand new holiday cottage just a stone’s throw from Miner’s!
There’s plenty of dust, paint and excitement behind the scenes right now…and maybe the occasional spirited discussion!

We did it! 🎉 Myself and Fiona completed the Coniston 14 yesterday and what a challenge it was….. 14 miles, 844ft of climbs, and over 30,000 steps.

But with so many amazing spectators cheering us on and by supporting each other every step of the way, we made it over that finish line together 🧡

We’re so proud to have raised an incredible £750 for our local hospice.

Thank you so much to everyone who sent messages of encouragement and to those who donated to such a worthy cause 🙏

Just 2 days to go until the Coniston 14!

I’m excited, and a little bit terrified, to take on this challenge. But it’s all in a good cause. I’m running in memory of our friend Justine, raising money for St Mary's Hospice……a charity that does such important and amazing work for local families.

So pleased our recent guests had such a lovely stay, making the most of the walks, the views and of course a few well-earned pints in the village!

Great to hear a recommendation for the local village pubs and The Coniston Foodhouse too, those sandwiches are now firmly on our “research list”.......it’s a tough job, but someone’s got to do it! 😉

This year, Fiona Wilson and I are running the Coniston 14 on the 21st March, in memory of our friend Justine. She previously ran this race as a pacemaker, encouraging others around the course, so it feels only right to follow in her footsteps (though definitely not as pacemakers!).

We’re raising money for St Mary's Hospice on South Cumbria, whose care and support means a great deal to many local families. If you’re able to donate or share our page, we’d really appreciate it.
