Surrounded as it is by hills and fells on almost all sides, Little Langdale can seem pleasantly self-contained and away from it all. However, one of the great things about our little corner of the Lake District is that it is actually very well connected to other areas.

Our latest blog highlights a seven mile walk taking you from our door at the Three Shires Inn to Tarn Hows, one of the Lake District’s most popular beauty spots.

Guess the location #2

This is a delightful spot that is just a stone's throw from the Three Shires Inn. Accessible for most abilities this could make for lovely after-dinner stroll in the summer months or somewhere you might pass on a quick stride out before breakfast.

"Those 3 peaks behind are home to a couple of satellites or radars, and are much further away than they look!

If you look closely you might see the radars on top of the mountain called Sornfelli. The valley behind it is named Mjørkadalur, which means The Fog Valley, because it's so often really foggy there. Smart place to hide a NATO radar ;) "
