My turn! 🤣
I was getting so frustrated, seeing everyone else's amazing aurora photos popping up on Facebook when the sky was 100% cloud here.
Then about 01:00, suddenly it cleared for a few minutes.
It was astonishing. I've seen the aurora several times in Norway and Finland as well as Scotland, but I've never been able to see the red with the naked eye until tonight, right in front of my own house. Fantastic!

I've been here 20 years now and I'm still finding corners that I haven't explored before. This one was an accident. I'd intended to climb Beinn Leamhain, but a late start, threatening weather and dense vegetation on the lower slopes had made me think better of it. So I followed the track up Glen Gour instead.
It's stunning! And full of birdsong.
At exactly 4pm as predicted by XC weather, the deluge arrived and I'm kicking myself that I didn't take any photos in the rain as it was epic! So much so that when returning along the track, the "small" fords had become serious obstacles. I'm glad that I wasn't on the summit.
On a separate subject, I notice that for the first time ever, my set of selected photos contains only images taken with the iPhone and none taken with the "proper" camera. I actually feel a bit sad about this, but have to acknowledge the astonishing improvement in the technology.
