Fancy spending five days on Anglesey taking your sea kayaking a little further? 🌊

We’ve got a few spaces left on our Advanced Sea Kayak Skills Week, 19–23 October.

It’s for experienced sea kayakers who want time to develop their skills, judgement and confidence in more demanding coastal environments.

Over the five days, we’ll make the most of the conditions Anglesey gives us, using different venues to develop advanced boat control, navigation, journey planning, rescues, judgement and decision-making.

It’s a small group, so there’ll be plenty of time on the water and lots of opportunity to focus on the areas you want to develop.

What a weekend at the ISKA Symposium 🇮🇪🌊

Ireland gave us blue skies, sunshine and some absolutely beautiful paddling around the islands - we definitely weren’t complaining! 😎

But the best bit was the people. Such a brilliant gang to spend the weekend with, catching up with old faces and meeting plenty of new ones along the way.

Huge thanks to everyone involved in putting the symposium together, and to everyone we shared the water with.

We’ve come away with lots of conversations about future paddling adventures too… 👀🩵

Day 3 around Anglesey 🌊

One of those evenings that makes you want to stay on the water just a little bit longer.

Three days into the circumnavigation, with more of the island behind us and plenty still ahead.

Anglesey was looking rather lovely in the evening light. 😊

Day 3 done. Onwards tomorrow… 🌊

Yesterday on our Anglesey circumnavigation 🌊

By day two, we were starting to settle into the rhythm of the journey.

Pack the boats. Paddle. Stop for food. Repack. Carry on. 😁

There’s something really satisfying about travelling this way - everything we need with us in the kayaks and the route gradually unfolding as we make our way around the island.

Onwards around Anglesey… 🌊

It wouldn’t be a Canadian canoe expedition without them. 😁

Some evenings on the Bloodvein, sitting around camp came with a few more uninvited guests than others…

Apparently these two were still smiling. 😂

Mosquito repellent definitely earned its place on the kit list.

What if your next sea kayak trip lasted a little longer? 🌊🇸🇪

Not just a day on the water, but a few days with everything you need packed into your kayak.

Paddling through an archipelago of thousands of islands. Finding somewhere to make camp. Waking up by the water, packing the boats and heading out to explore again.

Next September, we’ll spend four days doing just that in Sweden’s Bohuslän Archipelago.

We’ll travel between its islands and skerries, carrying what we need in our kayaks and wild camping along the way.

And if you love sea kayaking but haven’t done a multi-day expedition before, this could be your way into it.

You don’t need previous expedition experience to join us. We’ve included a two-day Mini Expedition Course on Anglesey before the trip, so we can paddle together, practise the key skills and get ourselves organised before Sweden.

We already have paddlers joining us, and there’s still space to come along. 😊

L is for Lining 🛶🇨🇦

Sometimes the canoe gets the easier route. 😂

With 87 rapids along the Bloodvein, there were plenty of decisions to make about whether to paddle, portage or find another way through.

And sometimes… out come the lines. 😁

All part of getting yourself, your kit and your canoe down the river.
