In 2007 Jim Young founded Adventurous Ewe following a jam packed 8 years of grassroots guiding across 4 continents for Exodus Travels.

We’re here to immerse ewe in your own adventure story 🌍
Family-run since 2007 we craft one-of-a-kind adventures & classic small group journeys world-wild with respect, a personal touch and our signature blend of fun & expertise.

Discovering vast countries, cultures, environments, mountains, deserts, coasts and jungles; and always up for taking the path less travelled. Furnished with a huge passion for adventure travel, Jim returned to his home in Snowdonia with a burning desire to create authentic, personable, fun and ethical travel experiences in his homeland. 🏔️ LIVE FROM THE TRAILS | NEPAL 🇳🇵

Two Adventurous Ewe groups.
Two exclusive treks.
And the mighty Annapurna region inbound.

Out first team has set off on their Annapurna Explorer Trek, while the second sets off on the Annapurna & Tilicho Lake Trek. Both itineraries created exclusively by Adventurous Ewe, together with a trusted local team in Nepal whose friendship and expertise have shaped adventures for well over a decade.

After a day taking in the streets, steps, sights, sounds and smells of Kathmandu, the second team is on the road today, heading towards the mountains. Behind them, a city alive with incense drifting from temples, horns sounding through busy streets and people galore going about their every day lives.

Ahead are the days trekking through the mighty Annapurna region. Hiking through mountain villages, over high passes and staying in local teahouses along the way.

It’s a challenging journey, with plenty of climbing, time to adjust to the altitude and good reason to keep stopping for the spectacular views.

Need something thrilling to put a spark into your winter? ❄️

In just under 16 weeks, you could be heading into Finland’s frozen wilderness for five stages of adventure, each with a thrilling way to travel through the snow.

Snowshoe between snow-laden trees. Take on a half or full ice marathon distance walk or run. Find your rhythm on backcountry skis. Ride a fat bike along snowy trails and feel the rush of travelling by dog sled through a landscape straight out of Narnia.

No previous snowshoeing, backcountry skiing, fat biking or dog sledding experience needed. Bring a willingness to learn new skills and get stuck in alongside your teammates.

With nearly 16 weeks to go, now’s the perfect time to start your training and preparation. We’ll provide a training programme to help you build fitness and confidence plus giving you a goal to keep you moving through the winter months.

Join the team taking on the Finland Arctic Challenge. Give those dark evenings and weekend walks an exciting purpose.

At first, the next hut is just a speck beneath the frozen mountains. Slowly, with each crunch of your snowshoes, it gets closer.

You’ve spent the day crossing Arctic valleys, carrying your kit through a vast white landscape that makes you feel wonderfully small.

On reaching the hut, snowshoes come off and everyone gets stuck in. Wood is chopped, water fetched and dinner gets underway as the hut warms up.

Soon, you’re gathered around the table, sharing a meal and stories from the day, settling into the simple rhythm of life on Sweden’s King’s Trail.

Then someone takes a look outside.

Layers go back on and you step into the cold. Above the hut, green and purple Northern Lights sweep across the sky. Conversation falls quiet as everyone watches.

You linger a little longer before heading back into the warmth and settling down for the night. Tomorrow, you’ll shoulder your pack and head for the next hut, with another story to take with you.

What a team. What a weekend!

This wasn’t the High Atlas adventure Pip and the Fit Club originally signed up for, but the way they handled everything thrown at them was nothing short of commendable!

Heavy snow, difficult mountain conditions and weather unsuitable for camping meant the Mt Toubkal itinerary had to change to our Plan B itinerary.

Then floods and mudslides complicated the return to Marrakech too.

Through it all, the group showed patience, humour, determination and a real willingness to adapt. They trusted the decisions being made, supported one another and kept the team spirit alive in force.

Adventure travel doesn’t always follow the plan. And safety will always come first for us! So we’re hugely grateful to everyone for working with us as the trip evolved.

A big thank you to our fabulous UK Leader Abi for guiding with such calm judgement, experience and care, and to our local Moroccan team for looking after everyone so well.

And a very special thank you to Pip for trusting Adventurous Ewe with a group that clearly means so much to her.

From remote High Atlas trails to home cooked tagines, birthday cake and gîte evenings, this may not have been the trip originally imagined, but it certainly became a very memorable one for all the right reasons!

You were an absolute credit to one another and a huge congratulations again to you all. 💛

450km. Two countries. Rain-soaked kit, muddy puddles and a team spirit that shines through it all. 🚲

Huge congratulations to the team who have just completed the Vietnam to Cambodia Cycling Adventure with Jim. Through the downpours and long days in the saddle, they kept the pedals spinning and each other going.

Between those kilometres lies a whole other story. Quiet backwaters. Narrow village lanes. Rice fields stretching into the distance. Local markets. And the warmth of local people, whose welcomes are every bit as memorable as the cycling itself.

You arrive hungry, gather around plates of freshly cooked local food and swap stories from the saddle.

It takes effort. There are tired legs and moments when a little encouragement goes a long way. That’s where a brilliant team makes all the difference.

Congratulations to our small and mighty team, and a heartfelt thank you for joining Jim and the local guides and support crews who helped bring this journey together. So many stories heading home. So many memories to return to for years to come.

We’re thrilled to introduce a new local partner-sheep with our pals at Repairs & Alterations.

Rooted in a shared love of the outdoors and keeping your favourite kit going. Because a torn sleeve or broken zip shouldn’t spell the end of a jacket with plenty more mighty miles in it.

Meet Rosanna and her team, who combine sewing skills, engineering know-how and a knack for solving problems to give outdoor gear another chapter and keep it out of landfill!

Here in North Wales, they help you hold onto the kit that fits just right, has been through a fair few adventures, has that good ole sentimental value and still has more to give.

What’s it really like to climb Yala Peak? 🏔️

Our latest blog takes you beyond the kit lists and altitude numbers to give you a real feel for this incredible Himalayan journey.

Our 10–23 April 2027 Yala Peak Expedition is already forming a wonderful team and will be led by the brilliant Seven Summiteer Jo Bradshaw bringing a huge amount of high-altitude experience, calm leadership and bucket loads of support.

There’s also a High Altitude & Arctic Training Weekend in Eryri | Snowdonia in January, helping you prepare properly, meet fellow team members and arrive in Nepal feeling confident and ready.

Day 1 and the team are already making a splash in Vietnam! 🚴‍♀️💦🇻🇳

A bit of rain, a bit of sun, plenty of laughs and a brilliant first taste of our Vietnam to Cambodia Cycling Adventure.

There’s something about travel that brings out your inner kid — jumping puddles, laughing in the rain and simply enjoying being in the moment.

And that’s exactly what journeys by bike are all about. Experiencing a place at ground level, passing through local communities and sharing all the unexpected moments along the way.

The team are well and truly in adventure mode now… and this is only Day 1.
