Cruising has been a passion of mine since my early childhood, and over the years I have gained invaluable experience of all aspects of cruising. I first set foot on a ship in 1967, and it has been hard to keep me off the ships ever since. Cruising has come a long way since those early days when cruise liners were three and four deep at Southampton docks. I was very fortunate to ever be given the o

pportunity to cruise at such an early age. I continued to cruise regularly throughout my childhood, and have early memories of sailing into New York onboard Canberra and celebrating many Christmases at sea, whilst my friends stayed at home in the cold. When I left school I had a determination to work onboard a cruise ship but it wasn’t to be, but I continued to cruise.

Enchanted Princess
Saturday 23 May 2026

Well, they say it’s not over until the fat lady sings, and she is singing loud and clear. Our brief little cruise on Enchanted Princess is over and in all honesty I could do with the next three days of this 7 night cruise, to get over the last 4. I could just do with 3 more days to chill and unwind. But sadly it isn’t to be. Time to relocate back to my office in dry land.

Thankfully our cases didn’t have to be outside the stateroom last night before bed, and we had until 9:00 this morning to vacate the stateroom and place our cases outside for collection.

I messaged Princess chat last night to ask what time we were due to enter the bay of motor and was advised it would be around 5:00am so the alarm was set for 5:00 because it’s sail in that I will never tire of. We took the pilot onboard at around 10 past and we glided our way through the hills and round the bends, and past the little church island on the post side. If you get the chance don’t miss the sail in and out, because it’s idyllic.

My little travelling cat has been packed safely away. He travels VIP in my hand luggage. Lizy gave him to me in 1995 when I went on my first ever work related fam trip, and now he comes everywhere with me. And sits by my bed at sea or on land. I wouldn’t dare go without him.

We had a very relaxed breakfast in the Amalfi Dining Room chatting to the lovely Cathie from Race Across the World.

Quick nip back up to the stateroom to put the cases outside the door ready for collection and then we had a little wander poking around areas of the ship I had not had chance to venture to this cruise.

The tender ashore is going to be an interesting one for us. Our cases will be loaded on to the tender with us and we will go ashore as a group to be processed through immigration. But, the wind has proper whipped up and the sea conditions look ‘interesting’ to say the least. So much so that the tendering service is running slower than anticipated and there is quite a backlog of guests trying to get ashore. I just have visions of my case accidentally slipping into the sea between ship and tender and never seeing my dresses and shoes again. Scary thought! But yes those tenders are going dome bobbing around at present. Maybe it will ease off by the time it’s our turn.

The ship has started to clear and what was a very busy Plazza area of guests waiting to be called to their tender, is now pretty much clear and the ship is feeling more tranquil.

We headed for our tender at 1130. Luggage was loaded onto the tender before us, and that was time for us to climb aboard and head to the port. I’ve never seen Kotor as breezy as it was today, but the ride across wasn’t so bad. Cases were off loaded. Through immigration and into the coach for the short drive to the airport. It’s a shame we missed Kotor because I do like it there. Odd when you think about it that we flew to Rome, have docked in Corfu and Dubrovnik, and we disembarked in Montenegro, but I haven’t actually been anywhere!

If ever you find yourself at Tiviat airport, don’t expect too much. You will be lucky if you find a seat airside. And the only bar is landside. I don’t think they are used to processing so many people all at once. But it was fine.

It was a little walk to the plane, and we eventually shut the doors and set off. It felt like the longest flight ever. It was actually two hours thirty five minutes, but it might as well have been 10 hours. The gin helped ease the pain! It was a never ending flight. Lovely view of the ship in the Bay of Kotor as we took off, and great view of the sights along the River Thames as we landed.

Straight through passport control, no queue no issues, but then we waited for ever for any cases to appear. The car park was a joke. We had been collected but then proceeded to spend 40 minutes trying to get out if the car park. There was a lot of horn tooting. Not from us I might had. Thankfully we were soon on our way with a stress free run back home. So apologies for the delay with my date today but there you go. It’s the way the day worked out.

For now, That’s all folks! Short little jaunt to the Med and back. Thanks for following along. Thanks for keeping up with me, it’s been a blast 🥂 💃 🚢 ✈️

Pre dinner drinks at the Wake Bar was actually really lovely this evening. Nice little roped off area for our group, warm breeze and the view of the wake of course. I thought it would play havoc with my hair but I must have applied the right products because it pretty much behaved.

We dined this evening in Crown Grill. We had a nice table for 6 and the wine and conversation flowed. The French onion soup was hotter than the sun, the lamb was amazingly tender, but disappointingly it was barely warm and served on a cold plate. The waitress said she would let the chef know, but that was the last I heard on the matter! Drink more Whispering Angel Jane! Key Lime pie was good.

80’s Disco in Vista Lounge. It was busy and we stuck it out for a while because the tunes were good, but I think we all just wanted a quiet night and a comfy chair so we tootled down to Crown Grill and found a sofa to sink ourselves in to. We are all so tired. It’s been a busy four days and it was so hot today we are all just drained I think.

They were belting out some rare old tunes in Live Lounge from the karaoke. It looked extremely busy in there.

Mr C spotted a teeny little cute duck so we both found a duck today. What’s the chances, and neither of us look for them. Kate will be impressed with Nanny & Grumpas findings 🐥

Oops, I’ve just remembered that I was supposed to go back to the fine jewellery shop, and chat about that 92 facet diamond, ring wasn’t I? I think the shop assistant thought he had me hooked for a minute, but a cruise ship wouldn’t be my choice to purchase a diamond.

Have I twirled 🤔 of course I have, turned into a bit of a Marilyn Monroe moment but I rolled with it 💃

So that is pretty much it, we really didn’t venture very far at all this evening. Never even made it as far as mid ship in fact. You will be very shocked to hear that Mr C did not even go in search of a pie. It was beef and onion apparently but he didn’t have enough energy left in him to even think about being tempted. He flatly refused to fetch me a hot chocolate, so that was that. Bed with no hot chocolate and he was snoring before his head hit the pillow, then he gets annoyed when I wake him up to tell him to shh 🤫

I’m not sure if I’ve had a busy day or a lazy day. It all got very confusing. Blame the 24k Margaritas 🍸

I sort of had a very lazy morning. Mr C proper pulled it out of the bag with the breakfast delivery. Poached Salmon open sandwich and a pastry. Plus the obligatory vanilla latte of course

I’m not sure what was happening from up in the hills opposite but it sounded like cannons going off at 7:00 this morning. We think someone might have been having a “late night” party or celebrating something because it eventually ended with fireworks and cheering.

I have included some pics of today’s Princess Patter from today to show you what’s going on onboard. I’ve not read it, so don’t quiz me on it 😜

Mr C went ashore and took the shuttle bus in to Dubrovnik for 23 euro which I personally think is a bit steep, but before you say it, it’s not the reason I chose not to go ashore! I just wanted a day to myself, doing very little and catching up with work related things. All of your lovely comments on Facebook being one of them. So I took full advantage of the peace and quiet and spent four hours laid in bed, catching up with things that needed catching up with and that was a perfect way to spend the morning for me today.

I was then forced to go ashore and get my presence in Dubrovnik registered, which was all very confusing, for reasons that I can’t be bothered to explain, but it’s all to do with shengan areas and entry and exit etc, which will all become clear. I had a very pleasant walk along to Passport and Customs control with Cathie from Race Across the World, and I can confirm we did zero racing, just lots of chatting as we strolled there and back.

Back onboard and it was time for a much needed 24k Margarita 🍸

Mr C had a lovely time ashore by the look of it, and then the lunatic walked all the way back, and across the bay. In this heat. He was a right sweaty mess when he got back 🥵

I chose to have a light lunch on the balcony but soon retreated back to the air conditioned stateroom. Jeeze I nearly had a toastie for lunch. It is incredibly hot out there. Good job I ordered a cocktail to wash it down 🍹

I’ve been pottering and doing very little all afternoon, and I’m good with that. But, oh what luck. I found a duck 🦆

The Sailaway from Dubrovnik did not disappoint! Absolutely beautiful. We are off to the Wake Bar now for our pre dinner cocktail gathering.

Dining in Crown Grill this evening so I will update you with that in the morning.

Oh I need to slow down, or at least have a rest. I tried desperately to have a Nanna nap but it just wasn’t working. I realised I was hungry and had somehow completely missed lunch, so I had to despatch Mr C to go in search of a sandwich. I presumed he would head to International Cafe, but he didn’t he headed to the buffet and returned with a plate of delicious chicken and salad. Before I knew I was later than I thought it was and I was literally throwing make up at my face in an effort to get to the cocktail party on time. I ended up being 30 minutes late. I’m sure one less cocktail won’t do me any harm.

Dinner this evening was back in the Amalfi Dining Room. I have been looking forward to pumpkin soup ever since I saw it on the menu in the galley. It did not disappoint. But then the main came and as delicious as it looked, I suddenly realised I was full and over tired. It happens! It was a delicious looking piece of pork belly though. I thought I was just too tired to eat, but then I remembered the lovely chicken breast I devoured whilst I was getting ready. That will be why then. The waiter was most concerned, but I had to leave it. The passion fruit sorbet was less of a challenge and hit the spot. In hindsight I should have skipped the meal and had a Nanna Nap.

Many of the group went to the show in the theatre after dinner. I have no clue what it was because I’ve had no time to pick up a Princess Patter or look at the app to see what the daily programme is.

We opted to wander until we found a place to settle. The pianist was proper going for it was we walked through Crown Grill. He was belting out some sort of show tune, but I can’t recall what. I’ve had a drink since then.
Live Lounge had a Beetles quiz going on and then we hit the Plazza. Silent disco three decks down and the Head Office team were down that whirly staircase faster than a rabbit out the trap. Oh there were some happy faces, they love a Silent Disco!

Now, silent discos are not my thing. I don’t like the music being transported right inside my head from the headphones, and to not be able to hear any of the outside noise. It makes me feel a bit claustrophobic. I don’t know what it is. But what I do like is observing all the funky dance moves and trying to work out what everyone is dancing to from their funky moves and occasional burst of chorus.
Of course they made me have a go! But I was much happier on a seat with a cocktail or three.

The band came on after the silent disco and out came the dancers. The Plazza is a great place for a bit of people watching. It keeps me entertained all evening, and after one set from the band it moved into a disco. The Plazza is definitely the heart of the ship on here.

Now I might have wandered off at one point and took myself off the fine jewellery shop, just for a browse, as you do. Oh boy did they see me coming. I was trying not to giggle as the lovely sales guys churned out his compliments and disguised sales patter. He clocked my diamonds, of course he did, and he could tell what I would like. We tried some pink sapphires before moving on to an absolutely stunning pink diamond with 92 facets. He seemed surprised that I knew my stuff when it came to diamonds. I’m not just a pretty face you know. He left me with the ring while he went to speak to his manager to see if there was anything special he could do for me re the price and of course there was. He’s written it all down for me and has invited my husband to return with me tomorrow evening. Lol, as if Mr C has any say in my purchases. It was a lovely ring though. I had a lovely time. I could have wandered on to the next cabinet and checked out a few more diamonds but given that some of the assistants already had their bags in their hands I guess they wanted to close up and go to bed. I had a lovely time.

A Lemon Drop Martini was waiting for me when I got back to the others. Mr C is flagging. I’m flagging. Mr C wants to get to his pies. He’s been going on about his pies all day. It’s his favourite chicken pie today and he can’t wait. We were the first to bail tonight, we said our Goodnights and headed to International Cafe. I joined the hot chocolate queue he joined the pie and snacks queue. He came back very upset. No pies!!! Pies finished Sir! None left, all gone. Thats his Princess Cruise experience on the edge of being ruined lol. Poor Mr C 🥧 😢

The glass lift transported us to deck 10, but sadly no travelator has been invented to get us to the aft. I knew there was a reason we loved smaller ships.

It was a beautiful evening out on the balcony with the moonlight and stars. My favourite part of a sea day in many ways 🌟

Twirling? You are making me dizzy from all of the twirling I do throughout the evening, but this dress is definitely a twirler, so I twirled, and twirled some more 💃

Hey! How’s your day been? Mine has been hot. Very very hot 🥵 ☀️

Day didn’t start to well due to social media issues. I was checking my post late last night when I eventually found my bed, and it suddenly stopped working with a potential “you’ve been hacked” type message. I woke ant C up after his pie fest, but truth was neither of us were in any fit state to try and sort it out. We did try but we didn’t know if we were making it worse. So told ourselves we would deal with it in the morning.

So we woke up just before we arrived in Corfu. Neither of us knew what the breakfast situation would be, because the completed menu that was lying around from the night previous had disappeared and we didn’t have another to complete. But there was eventually a knock at the door and the previous mornings order did arrive, with a bonus pot of coffee. Happy days, but it was downhill after that. Mr C was relieved he didn’t have to do a coffee run. But where were the cups? And sugar and spoons etc? That was a fail, so he took himself off to International Cafe for two vanilla Lattes. Meanwhile I’m trying to follow the ‘retrieve Facebook login’ instructions. We were stuck in a massive loop and my stress levels were high. Nothing that we tried was working. I was convinced that the page was gone forever along with all of you lovely followers.
Mr C returned with what should have been two vanilla lattes. Nope, it was in fact to black coffees! No sugar. This is not the morning for this!

I had been on the internet, off the internet, swapped from iPad to phone and back again and that FB page was not coming back. But then, no clue what I did and I was in and FB all recovered. Three hours of my life I won’t get back.

It was sort of two late to go ashore by then, given that it’s an early back onboard, plus I had another behind the scenes tour to attend. So I met Mr C up on deck 16 and indulged in a cocktail or three, maybe four

But oh boy was it hot? It was hot, hot! Greatest Showman was on the big screen so I sang along to a few tunes, as you do after a few Sherrie’s.

We had all sorts flying overhead today too. Some sort of Military Celebration day ashore so apparently the dirt and all hospitality was closed. But we had fighter jets and all sorts zoom overhead. Bit loud, and they were so fast I didn’t actually see one.

Quick shower and freshen up and we had a Behind the Scenes galley tour to attend. Always fascinates me how the galleys operate, but they have it down to a military operation and it all flows. Great tour hosted by Nicole, with some very insightful information.

Pre dinner drinks this evening is in crooners I believe, so I will report back after a few cocktails and twirls 💃

Pre dinner drinks this evening in Crooners. The champagne waterfall was taking place in the Plazza but there was not an inch of rail space to get a glimpse, and anyway we were having a lovely time with personalised bar service from the spot where we were in our cosy VIP area 🥂

Dinner this evening was at Catch by Rudi, and wow! WOW is all I can say! What a fabulous meal!
This is one of the restaurants that has changed location from what I am used to on Sky Princess and is down on deck 5 opposite Guest Services.
The menu is mainly fish and seafood, obviously, but there are a couple of meat options on there that can be adapted to meat only, which a couple in our group did opt for.
The menu was fully explained, drinks orders taken and a long evening of good conversation, great food and a lot of laughter followed, and oh boy did we laugh.
The food was, well . . . I just don’t know what to say really. It was theatre in itself just watching all the various dishes being served and then prepped to eat. My Dover Sole was on another level to any Dover Sole I have ever had anywhere, in any restaurant on ship or land. Some of the dishes were just . . . Well just wow really.
Oh and then there were the deserts. Blinky blimey, the deserts were just on another level. I don’t think any of them could disappoint.

Oh yes, we had a visit from the Captain and Senior Officers, so of course I took advantage and had a photo opportunity. Man with stripes! Why not! And very nice gentleman they were too! We all gave Sophie a glowing review for her Bridge tour this afternoon.

We were in Catch by Rudi until late, just chatting but mainly laughing. Good company and all that…

The Plazza was busy. There was a man on a unicycle malarking about. Whatever he was doing, he was going down a storm. The thing I like about the Plazza is, it’s the hub of the ship, and if whatever is happening in there isn’t your bag, things soon move on and a different form of entertainment soon follows.

We decided that we should partake pre dinner drinks in the Crown Grill Bar, and what an excellent choice that was. I managed to secure a sofa just as a group of ladies were exiting, which was lucky because it was busy. The pianist was churning out a few Sinatra and familiar tunes. Cosmos on order, and more chat and giggles followed. We learnt all about the behind the scenes of Race Across the World from Series 3 winner Kathy who is one of our Go Cruise Brand Ambassadors. It’s fair to say we had a lovely evening from start to finish.

We truly have just had the best evening thanks to Princess Cruises, our hosts and of course Go Cruise Head Office Team. I’m going to be honest, there was a point at the start of the evening where I didn’t even think I had the energy to get to dinner, but thankfully I found my second wind. It’s been a full on, non stop sort of day.

We were of course the last out of Crown Grill Bar. The lights were up. The boys had cleared up, wiped down and made their cocoa before we headed along the road.

I wanted Hot Chocolate but Mr C protested and claimed that bed was closer, which it was. But, I mentioned the word ‘pie’ and he was along the road and down the stairs faster than a rabbit out of a trap. I was in charge of hot chocolate orders whilst he got in the short queue for his pie. But wait, even after that mammoth dining experience, he has gone for two pies! Doesn’t he look a happy man? 🥧

The Plazza was still fairly busy with a disco and people in the bar enjoying the tunes whilst others danced on the dance floor. Can I just take a moment to thank all the lovely ladies who stopped to compliment me on my dress, shoes and bag, this evening - even at silly o’clock in the morning. It is very much appreciated because this is one of my all time favourite dresses.

No pj and nightdress display this evening. Mine was not left out and Mr Cs were just folded by his pillow. Still a mystery why they were hanging the night previous.

But I leave you with Mr c and his two pie nightcap. He was happy, and went to sleep dreaming of pies 🥧 🥧

Oh yes, forgot to say - there were twirls, lots of twirls 💃 💃 💃

No rest for the wicked they say! Well I must have been wicked in a past life. Feel like I’ve not come up for air recently.

Clocks went forward one hour last night, so I lost an hours sleep before I even closed my eyes. I pre ordered room service breakfast as my wake call, so that I knew I would be up and ready in time for this mornings Business session. Room service let me down, and our breakfast order was still on the door handle 😠

Mr C was despatched to International Cafe for vanilla latte and pastries, and biff baff bosh before I knew it I was sat infront of a Princess Cruises presentation and Businesd update from our Head office Team and the lively Josh from Princess Cruises.
I spotted a table full of boxes games for those who wanted to collect one. I really should pay more attention because I’ve never spotted that that is a thing before.

Then it was on to a back of house tour of the Princess Theatre. Fascinating go learn about all the workings of the productions, props and outfits and how everything is stored in such a confined space. Did I take advantage of that stage fur a twirl. You bet I did! I was not going to pass up an opportunity like that 💃

We opted for lunch at Gigi’s Pizzeria with fabulous view of the coast as we transmitted the Straights of Messina. A nice chilled glass of Whispering Angel washed the Hawaiian Pizza down nicely.

And then I had chance to browse the shops. The hand bag shop was rammed for some reason but I did spot a very cute Mary Francis flamingo bag in the gift shop. That’s my kind of cute bag.

No time for a Nanna nap, VIP trip to the bridge invite was waiting for me when I got back to the stateroom. I’m fortunate to have been on many bridge visits in my time, but always a treat.

Cadet Sophie did an amazing job of showing us how everything works, and confident that in my old age she will be Captaining a ship of the future. Clearly passionate about her job and loving her chosen career path 👩‍✈️

Mr C has had a Nanna Nap on my behalf. I need to find my second wind because hours of sleep this last week have been minimal. Quick turn around and we need to be out the door and ready for pre dinner drinks at crooners for 6:00pm. Formal night tonight so don’t miss tomorrow’s update 🥂

I have twirled around Enchanted Princess for you 💃

Pre dinner drinks were partaken in Crooners. I am liking Crooners and I can see it becoming my go to bar this time, although I am yet to find anyone crooning in there. Give it time. French Martini was my cocktail of choice this evening, creature of habit that I am.

Queues were forming for one of the Restaurants midship. I never really understand how that happens on the first night, but it does seem to happen on every ship. People are just keen to dine I guess. A stroll along to Amalfi Dining Room for dinner. That’s the one at the aft that confuses a lot of people, for no other reason than it’s upstairs downstairs in location I guess.

The sunset this evening was amazing. Mr C was of course on nine pins itching to be out on deck to capture it in all its glory. He was excused for 5 minutes to go on deck with his beloved camera.

Lots of choice on the menu. I was a bit spoilt for choice to be honest. I did fancy a soup but I don’t like Leeks and French Onion soup is to messy, and onion’y for me, so I opted for the prawns. The Pork Schnitzel was excellent, and piping hot, so no complaints. They had however ran out of crème brûlée, so clearly that was a popular choice. I opted for the lemon thing, but I’m not sure if I had chosen sugar free or something in my haste, but it didn’t taste as good as it looked. Mr C had two deserts. Would’ve expect any less from him. He had to have the cheese plate for research purposes apparently! It was ready plated so no choice of cheese or crackers. I’m sure a certain son in law will zoom in on that 😜

We were late leaving the restaurant, as in they were setting up for breakfast kind of late. Too much chattering and laughter.

Time to find a bar. Vista Lounge was just kicking out from a talent type show. Live Lounge was busy with the quiz. I’m not a quizzer, so we strolled along to the Plazza. Oh boy it was busy in and around there. I do like a Princess Plazza. Definitely the heart of the ship. The dance floor was packed and the band were kicking out some banging tunes.

I’m very discombobulated with all the bars and lounges on here. We are on Enchanted, and she’s the same as Sky in layout and looks, but the bars have moved and it confuses me. Vines is O’Malleys. Bellini’s is Spritz at Sea. Catch by Rudi is the Trattoria. See I’ve confused you now haven’t I!

Anyway we found a spot in Spritz, cocktails were chosen. The dancers danced, and I just observed.

It’s been a long day. We really do need our bed. Hot Chocolate and cookies order has been placed at International cafe. Oh yes, Mr C has of course scoped out the pies. Lentil or beef apparently. You will be beyond shocked to learn he declined both. It’s not late enough for a scooby snack. He will be scoping out the pies again today. Let’s hope he’s not disappointed.

We took a ride in the glass lift en route to bed. For some bizarre reason Mr C took us all the way to deck 16. I have no clue why he thought sleeping under the stars would be a good idea.

Got back to the stateroom, and I’m not quite sure what was going on with the pjs and nightie. That’s a new one on me. Other than give me a bit of a fright as I walked in I’m not sure why they were presented in such a way 🤷‍♀️

It was a beautiful evening out on the balcony. We were just drifting along and the stars were shining ✨

Well, take a gooseygander where I am today. Sunshine, a ship and cocktails, what more could I ask for ☀️ 🍹

Today we embarked the beautiful Enchanted Princess in Civitavecchia. We are here in a ‘work’ capacity as Top Achievers for our Reward and Recognition cruise with Go Cruise and hosted by Princess Cruises. We actually arrived in Italy yesterday, but don’t worry - it did not affect any bookings being confirmed for the Cunard Four Queens that went on sale yesterday or Cunard Summer 2028 that went on sale today - 100% successes has been maintained. Everything has been planned around Cunard launch. When in Rome . . . . It’s business as usual and we book cruises! Lizy is in the office doing an amazing job, and I’m at the end of emails, so very much business as usual.

So back today. We had a fabulous transfer with Cab Roma from our hotel to the ship. Can’t recommend them enough. Great communication, lovely driver Fabio, very comfortable air conditioned Mercedes. From the hotel direct to the ship side. We like to arrive in style.
Bags whisked away by a porter. Straight through security and onboard the ship within a matter of minutes. At the bar shortly after 10:45am. Cheers

It was so good to feel the sun on our backs. We were sat at the bar you see. 24k Margarita for me! It was hot! We eventually retreated to the shade for some lunch.

Staterooms were ready at 13:00, didn’t take long to unpack, and we were soon settled.
We drifted back up to the aft pool bar but it was way too hot. I could feel my skin burning on my face (yes lizy I did have my factor 50 on, but that was applied this morning!)
We retreated to Crooners. Found a cosy corner and enjoyed a Cosmo whilst listening to the country songs from the Plaza below.

Sailaway up by the pool as we waived Goodbye to Civitavecchia before heading back to the stateroom for a quick freshen up before popping out for some pre dinner drinks.

I will be back in the morning with a twirl or two- stay tuned! 💃
