Discover a brand-new cultural highlight in the West Midlands this summer. 🏛️✨
On the 11th & 12th July 2026, the inaugural Coventry Festival of Books (presented by Book Extravaganza) will transform the city into a vibrant hub for literature, art, and history. We are proud to announce that this year's festival is part of the National Year of Writing 2026, led by the National Literacy Trust ‘Go All In’, making it a defining moment in the city’s cultural calendar.
The festival will bring two incredible historic venues to life:
🏰 The National Trust's Charterhouse, Coventry: Hosting a buzzing bookish marketplace packed with indie authors, beautiful books, crafts, merchandise, and curiosities. (Entry via standard admission or free for National Trust members!)
⛪ Anglican Chapel, Paxton's Arboretumat London Road Cemetery: Setting the stage for an exclusive, ticketed programme of talks and performances from headline international authors.
Combined with hands-on workshops, immersive exhibits, and creative activities, it offers an inspiring destination experience for tourists and culture seekers alike. Pair your festival visit with an exploration of Coventry’s famous medieval history, vibrant independent dining quarters, and beautiful green spaces.
