Great news about our local’s re-opening soon.
Introducing the new team behind The Sun…
With less than 2 weeks to go until opening we thought we’d introduce ourselves and give you a bit more of an idea of who we are 😊
New owners Teagan & Tom will be taking The Sun in a new direction of becoming a ‘Farm to Fork’ style country pub.
Tom has a background in farming and Teagan has worked in the hospitality industry for a number of years predominantly in rural pubs. Both have wanted to open their own pub and when The Sun became available it felt like the right location.
All of the produce will be as local as possible with the Lamb & Beef actually being Toms own livestock. There will be a chicken coup on site too with eggs for sale in the bar. We’re also proud to be introducing a diverse herb garden on site where we plan to grow as much of our own produce to be used in our dishes.
Our head chef Jack has a wealth of experience in different types of restaurant across the Isle of Wight and as far as Cornwall including Off the Rails and even The Sun at Hulverstone where he started off as a KP at the age of 16. We’re excited to see Jack thrive and put his stamp on the foodie scene here on the Island.
