Just 1 week till our glorious hike along the coast! This location makes you feel like you are on holiday. The bright blue waters, boardwalks and sandy beaches are just spectacular!

We will be making sure to have plenty of time for playing on the beach and tasty food at Platform 33.

Location: Souter Lighthouse
Date: 20th May
Start time: 10am
Approx running time: 5hrs (2hrs are walking)

A walk along the cliffs from Souter to South Shields taking in the breathtaking views of Marsden Rock and Trow Point.

When we reach South Shields we will have plenty of time to play on the beach and also stop off at Platform 33 for some delicious pub grub, because who doesn't like a hike that involves a pub?!

Rated 1/5 for our family and suitable for pushchairs.

This location is truly breathtaking! Multiple smaller falls along a winding river that lead you to the magnificent main waterfall.

If like me you have a child with additional needs or struggles with sensory overload, I can imagine you have also felt the burning eyes of bystanders when you are helping them to stay safe when feeling overwhelmed.

I know I have. A trip to the shops can go 1 of 2 ways, as could a trip to somewhere they really want to go!

1 place I have found that we have hardly ever had a problem is when we go into the wild and go exploring.

Not only are there less people to judge but it gives them a chance to breathe, explore and enjoy themselves! While all you have to do is pack the spare trousers in case they decide to roll in the mud πŸ˜…
