Our holiday cottage on the farm still has availability for June! If you fancy a relaxing break in the beautiful Welsh Black Mountains with walks from the doorstep into the hills, please do have a gander and get in touch.

Self-contained annex on the farmhouse sleeping four with fabulous views over the mountains, own terrace, kitchen/dining area, comfy sofas and log burner. Lots to do in the area including hiking, nice pubs, quaint towns to visit and horse trekking over the mountains which I can help you organise (beginners welcome too!). Can also promise babbling ducks, naughty pygmy goats, Shetland ponies and purring cats.

Just outside the village of Cwmdu, high up in the hills, 15 mins from Crickhowell, 25 mins Hay-on-Wye and Abergavenny.

Happy Easter one and all 🐣

It’s certainly feeling more like spring around here now that the evenings are longer, the grass is coming through, the daffodils are out, and newborn lambs are causing traffic jams. We don’t think the ducks have laying yet, unless they have orchestrated a very well disguised Easter egg hunt, but we hope to have some duck eggs soon 🪺

The goaties have discovered they really like climbing and dancing on the big barn roof, the kittens have been lolling around in the sun and catching shoulder rides, I have been getting out and about with the ponies and the ponies have been defending their breakfasts from the goats!

Kitten Cleo gets one step closer every day to her second greatest mission in life, drinking the human’s coffee (her first greatest mission being to gain entry to the human house, which she considers a more befitting lifestyle for a cat such as herself than living in the barn).

The views from the holiday cottage are ever more glorious as the leaves return to the trees and the hedgerows are blossoming. Come and stay with us soon! 🥚🌺

Welcome to Pen Y Caeau Farm Holiday Cottage - a self-catering cottage with wonderful views, high in the hills of the Black Mountains in Bannau Brycheiniog (the Brecon Beacons) National Park.

The cottage sleeps up to four (king bed which can split into two singles, and a twin room), has a full kitchen with dining area, a cosy living room with leather armchairs and sofa, a log burner and double doors which open onto the terrace overlooking the mountains.

There are many walking, cycling and horse riding routes in the area, including directly from the farm. We are in a peaceful location yet still within easy reach of local towns and shops by car, including the popular high street of Crickhowell (15 mins away), Abergavenny (25 minutes), and 'Town of Books' Hay-on-Wye (30 minutes).
