The Preseli Hills hills, modest in height though they are, have a wild, epic quality about them and it’s no surprise that King Arthur and his knights chose these wild uplands for their battle with the giant magic boar Twrch Trwyth – at least that’s what ‘The Mabinogion’, a book of ancient Welsh folk tales, would have us believe.

The ‘Golden Road’ across the Preselis is a 5,000-year-old trail that follows the spine of the hills and passes standing stones, Iron Age forts and the site from which the Bluestones of Stonehenge were quarried.
