ver the dramatic windswept moors. No two tours will ever be the same, and we tailor our talks to your specific interests where possible, but some of the highlights include
Using seldom frequented tracks and ancient bye-ways. Seeking out the elusive Red Deer and the famous Exmoor Ponies in their natural habitat. Plenty of stops along the way for photography. Points of local interest. Pointing out the flora and fauna along the way
Our trips last for 3 hours and your guide Daphne is born and bred on Exmoor, she is the daughter of a local Exmoor farming family and has an abundance of local knowledge, so please be sure to ask her questions about the things you see. The safaris also cover the areas popularized by local character Johnny Kingdom in his BBC2 series ‘A Year on Exmoor’. Our tours start from Dulverton, Exford and Dunster, with a pick up point in Wheddon Cross too. Barle Valley Safaris has been operating since 1998 and carries 2,000 visitors a year to explore the Exmoor National Park. We operate our tours from three pick up points, Dulverton, Exford and Dunster. Tours start at 9.30am and 2pm and last for approximately 3 hours. during the summer months an evening tour is also offered by prior arrangement. Day tours are also available again by prior arrangement. Binoculars are available in the vehicle. Well behaved dogs are allowed by prior arrangement.

Our beautiful shepherds hut on Exmoor, with off grid peace and tranquility. A romantic place for two to spend a few nights on Exmoor. With beautiful views and only the Sheep and Wildlife to disturb you at night, what more could anyone want!
Enjoy the Dark Sky at night with the Planets and Stars shining brightly above you.
And in the morning you can watch the sunrise appearing and see the golden light which photographers love. 😁
Comes with its own separate personal bathroom. With toilet and the most amazing shower with a view!
