Fairly new to the area but definitely worth a visit especially if you have a dog or you can't be bothered walking down to the village for a drink, not many places around here you can get 2 drinks for under £10 but you can here only 400m from Sugar Pine with live music, quiz nights and bingo throughout the year 🥂

When I'm not busy with keeping the Lodge tiptop I get asked to do various tasks from packing firewood to driving large machinery, today I was chauffeur for a couple on their big day not to far from home but still a nice location. Bruce's stone,
45 minutes and you can be up in the wilds of Glentrool, part of the Galloway forest park a perfect spot for a full day walking the hills including climbing Merrick the highest hill in Dumfries and Galloway if you're able.

Summer is supposed to be round the corner here at Sugar Pine Lodge however cold winds are forecast for the next few days cooling things down a bit so some pots planted up to brighten the view until summer dose arrive.

Our last guests left after having a good time and great weather so it's back to our mantainance programme before our next guests arrive in April
Fitting new blinds today sadly to block off that beautiful view however sun up at 5am tends to wake you up🙂

Well after a week of staying at Sugar Pine Lodge getting it ready for our guests due in April we had a booking request for tomorrow😲
Not expected at this time of year so frantically tidying up all our tools, paints and everything we brought with us, was hoping to get loads more done but that will have to wait till next weekend

Well we've had a busy few days getting Sugar Pine Lodge ready for 2025, the weather has been great for painting so the outside is now completely done, new gutters fitted, one bedroom repainted and some new art work inside. Just waiting on the rest of the new windows and to paint the door and we're good. With views like this what's not to like🥰🥰

The weather has improved enough to let us get some new windows fitted at the Sugar Pine Lodge, one was desperately needing replaced but all good and new. Next year we will get the rest done

Out for a romantic meal for valentines at our local hotel the Anchor. Excellent food as always very well presented and friendly staff definitely worth a visit just for the mussels.
Surf and Turf was the best we've had in years

Well as the summer season comes to an end and the weather has definitely changed we have closed Sugar Pine Lodge for the winter
We had some great visitors new and old from as far afield as Germany and Mexico.
We finally did a tour of our local dear park getting up close to some impressive deer so if you haven't already done the tour it's definitely a must
Cheryl and I look forward to next year and hope it's as good as this one.

Ernespie Farm
A nice local place to visit with children and friends. Friendly staff good food, good well stocked shop for all your plant, toys and household ornaments, plenty for the children to see and do.
