A reminder of our screening this Friday of Marc Wadsworth's film Divided by Race, United in War and Peace. Shown as part of Black History Month, it recounts the untold stories of black servicemen, mainly from the Caribbean and Africa, who fought with with Britain against the N***s in the Second World War. They describe their experiences then, and after being demobilised, when they faced racism with fortitude and good humour.

This powerful and moving film captures the personal testimonies of fourteen former military personnel. It has been screened by the South African Broadcasting Corporation and featured in film festivals. Marc later made a BBC version of the film on Caribbean war heroes.
