The cygnets are looking absolutely massive out of the water now 😂🐣

I had a little chat with them this morning, and I’m not saying they understood every word… but they definitely had plenty to say back.

When they’re paddling around, they still look like fluffy youngsters.

But once they’re stood on dry land, you realise they’re turning into proper chunky little swans.

Still squeaky.
Still nosy.
Still expecting breakfast.

Basically, five feathered teenagers with tiny voices and big opinions.

The young cygnets are getting very comfortable with me now 😂🐣

This morning they came squeaking over just like their older siblings do, full of confidence and probably hoping I’d opened the breakfast buffet.

I think I’ve officially been accepted as part of the brook furniture now with these youngsters.

Cloudy skies and scattered showers this morning, but Dawlish Beach still looks gorgeous 🌦️

Not every beach morning has to be blue skies and sunshine. Sometimes it’s the softer, quieter days that show off Dawlish at its best.

A lovely start, even with a bit of rain in the air, but we do need it.

We’re live from Sea Breeze Cam this morning sponsored by Cofton Holidays 🌦️

There’s a huge rain cloud sitting out in the distance, so we’re keeping a close eye on whether it passes us by… or gives Dawlish a proper soaking.

For now, it’s one of those classic coastal views, a bit of brightness, a bit of drama, and the weather doing exactly what it wants.

Come and watch it roll in with us, and let us know where you’re watching from today 👇

Breakfast time on the brook… and nobody is missing a crumb 🐣🌿

The cygnets were in full eating mode this morning, watched closely by Bert and Kimber. You can definitely see why they’re getting so chunky now.

Tiny squeaks, tiny beaks, and a very serious commitment to clearing every last bit of food.

At this rate, they’ll be putting in their own lettuce order by next week 🥬😂

What a sight along the Dawlish sea wall 🚂💨

34028 Eddystone returned through Dawlish today with The Royal Duchy, and we captured the full video along the South Devon coast.

This Southern Region rebuilt West Country Class locomotive always looks and sounds fantastic on this stretch, with the sea, cliffs, and railway all coming together in that classic Dawlish way.

It was especially good to see Eddystone back again, after also appearing earlier this year on the Great Britain XVIII round Britain tour.

A big thank you to Colin, Sue, Nick and Rebecca Barrow for their help with this one. Always appreciated.

Turn the sound up and enjoy the full passing 💙

What a sight along the South Devon coast 🚂💨

Yesterday’s English Riviera Express was powered by LSL steam locomotive 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley, and we captured the full run from Dawlish Warren through Dawlish and on towards Teignmouth.

Steam, sea, cliffs, and that unmistakable sound echoing along the railway… this is exactly why this stretch is so special.

A huge thank you to Colin, Sue, Nick and Rebecca Barrow for their help with this one. It’s always appreciated.

Turn the sound up and enjoy the full video.

🚂 Steam through Dawlish today 🚂

The Royal Duchy Express passed through Dawlish today on its journey from Bristol Temple Meads to Par in Cornwall.

Powering the tour is Southern Region-rebuilt West Country Class 34028 “Eddystone”, the same steam locomotive we saw on the Great Britain XVIII round-Britain tour back in April.

It’s always a brilliant sight seeing steam along the sea wall, especially with Eddystone back on this stretch again.

And there’s another chance to see it later today, with the return expected through Dawlish at around 19:28 this evening.

As always, timings can change, so keep an eye out if you’re heading down.
