Local woodland walk in Denbigh.

Mount Wood or Pencoed, is a community woodland managed in partnership by Denbighshire Countryside Service and local voluntary groups. A project involving volunteers from surrounding communities helped clear up litter and improve the site for wildlife and visitors.

There are two possible routes through the woodland: a linear route along the lower path, which itself commands excellent views of local landmarks including Denbigh castle. If you are feeling more energetic, the higher lever route leads to a viewpoint with arguably the best views of Denbigh Castle and the Vale of Clwyd!

Parking: Large layby on the A543 (Lon Llewelyn) at the western side of Mount Wood and small car park at Bryn Stanley.Toilets: There are no toilets on site. The nearest facilities are located at Morrison’s Supermarket on Smithfield Road
