Lapland enquiries are starting to land in my inbox… and I thought it was worth having a little chat about expectations before you start planning your Christmas adventure.

The first thing to know?

Lapland is not a cheap holiday. It’s a very special, high-demand trip, and the price reflects the flights, accommodation, experiences and everything that goes into creating that magical few days. A 3 night break is fairly typical for Lapland experiences until Christmas.

And secondly… flexibility is your friend.

If you’re able to be flexible with your dates and open to flying from different UK airports, I have a much better chance of finding you suitable options.

The more specific the brief — exact dates, exact airport, exact hotel — the more limited your choices can become.

So if Lapland is on your family’s Christmas wish list, my advice is simple:

✨ Have a realistic budget
✨ Be as flexible as you can
✨ Tell me what’s most important to you

And then let me do the searching.

Because the aim isn’t just to find a Lapland holiday. It’s to find the right one for you.

So… welcome to where the holiday magic happens.

It might not look like the most glamorous room in the world, but this little office is where I spend a LOT of time turning “we’d quite like to go somewhere amazing” into an actual holiday.

There’s a lot of research, planning, emails, phone calls and probably far too much coffee involved.

But honestly? I still pinch myself that this is my job.

After nearly 18 years in the legal profession, I never imagined I’d end up working in this little office planning holidays for my clients — and loving every minute of it.

“But surely if we wait until the last minute, it’ll get cheaper?”

I hear this one quite a lot.

And while last-minute bargains absolutely can happen, I wouldn’t recommend waiting purely because you expect the price to drop.

Why?

Because you’re not just buying a holiday. You’re buying a particular flight, hotel, room, board basis, location and experience.

And the things people actually want tend to be the things that get booked.

You might eventually find a cheaper holiday… but it might not be the holiday you actually wanted.

I’d much rather help you work out what matters to you, find the right options and make sure you’re getting good value for your money — rather than simply chasing the lowest price.

Because cheap and good value aren’t always the same thing.

And that’s an important distinction.
