15/02/2021
Dear Valued customers ,
We would like to share with you the new COVID-19 measures that are being introduced from 15 February 2021 onwards for arrivals into England.
From 15 February onwards, everyone allowed to enter England from outside the Common Travel Area must:
• quarantine for 10 days
• take a coronavirus (COVID-19) test on day 2 and day 8 of quarantining
• follow the national lockdown rules
• follow separate guidance if they have been in a country where travel to the UK is banned (sometimes call the ‘red list’) at any point in the 10 days before they arrive in the UK. See the red list countries.
• complete the passenger locator form
WHAT PASSENGERS MUST DO BEFORE THEY TRAVEL
Everyone must:
• take a coronavirus (COVID-19) test and get a negative result during the 3 days before they travel to England
• book and pay for a travel test package, which will include COVID-19 tests to be taken on or before day 2 and on or after day 8 of their quarantine
• complete a passenger locator form with details of where they will home quarantine when they arrive and the travel test package booking reference number
Providing false or deliberately misleading information when filling out the passenger locator form is an offence punishable by imprisonment. Passengers could be fined up to £10,000, imprisoned for up to 10 years or both if they do not provide accurate details about the countries they have visited in the 10 days before they arrived in the UK.
Those who break the quarantine rules may face a penalty of up to £10,000.
Passengers who are travelling from somewhere in the Common Travel Area and who have not left the Common Travel Area for the past 10 days, do not need a test before leaving or to home quarantine and take tests after arriving.
PASSENGERS MUST GET A TEST BEFORE TRAVELLING
Passengers must have proof of a negative coronavirus test to travel to England – this includes UK citizens. Passengers must take the test in the 3 days before the service on which they will arrive in England departs.
For example, if they travel directly to England on Friday, they must take the test on the Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.
See the jobs with travel exemptions to find out whether a passenger’s job qualifies for an exemption and what that exemption covers.
PASSENGERS MUST BOOK A TRAVEL TESTING PACKAGE
Everyone must book a travel test package – this costs £210. Passengers must take a COVID-19 test on or before day 2 for variant surveillance and a test on or after day 8 to check that they do not have COVID-19.
Use the booking portal to book a travel test package. (this is administered by CTM.)
PASSENGERS MUST PROVIDE DETAILS OF WHERE THEY WILL QUARANTINE WHEN THEY ARRIVE BY FILLING THE PASSENGER LOCATOR FORM
Before travelling to England, passengers must provide their journey, contact details and the address where they will quarantine by completing the passenger locator form. They must do this within the 48 hours before they arrive.
They must provide a test package booking reference number to complete their passenger locator form.
Passengers may be asked to show these details to immigration officers when they arrive. If they provide false or deliberately misleading information they may be fined or imprisoned.
