We have already raised this issue with the taxi licensing authority at highland council but thanks goes to Ali’s taxis kiltarlity and Caberfeidh taxis for also bringing this to their attention!!!
It seems Dingwall is now home to at least one illegal “operator”
Everyone by now knows not to drink and drive, did you know that when you use an unlicensed vehicle/driver you may not be their first customer that day, if something happens that requires support from insurers you won’t be covered, these guys have to be contracted on EXCLUSIVE hire to ONE client for a MINIMUM of 24 hours, outside of that is illegal and uninsured, use buses and taxis where you can, if you can’t afford public transport. Get a friend to be designated driver and chip in for fuel but whatever you do

Make sure your taxi is licensed!!
When booking taxis and "lifts" this festive season, please make sure the vehicle picking you up is properly licensed!!
Taxis will have a white plate and private hire vehicles a yellow plate fixed to the rear of the vehicle with Highland Council logo, registration number, operators number and maximum passengers.
If the vehicle does not have this, they are NOT insured!!
We have identified a number of vehicles operating illegally between Dingwall and the Black Isle and have reported to the relevant authorities. Other operators may only do ONE hire within a 24 hour period without having an operators licence. This loophole will soon be closed.
All our vehicles are properly licensed and insured and we have £10 million public liability cover in place. Our drivers are also PVG cleared for some of the work we carry out.
