🍺 You can’t come to Dublin and not visit the home of Guinness… can you?

Another one ticked off the Dublin list — the Guinness Storehouse! ☘️

From discovering the story behind Ireland’s most famous stout and how it’s made, to the advertising, history and, of course, learning how to pour that all-important pint… there’s far more to the experience than I expected.

And the finale? A Guinness in the Gravity Bar, with fabulous panoramic views right across Dublin. 🍺

Even if Guinness isn’t normally your drink, I’d still say the Storehouse is one of those iconic Dublin experiences that’s well worth doing — although I have to admit, it does seem to taste better when you’re actually in Dublin! 😂

🇮🇪 Dublin Shore Excursion – Howth, sore feet & nearly 20,000 steps! 😱

Yesterday we took a break from the ship and hopped on the DART from Dublin out to Howth, a gorgeous and lively little fishing village on the coast.

And then came the walk… 😳

We decided to tackle the Howth Cliff Walk, which sounded like a lovely idea at the time! 😂

The views along the coastline were absolutely beautiful and definitely worth it, but goodness me… there seemed to be an awful lot of UP! ⛰️

For someone who doesn’t exactly class herself as a keen hiker, it was certainly a workout — and my legs and feet were very aware of it by the end!

Thankfully, there was a rather important incentive waiting for us…

🍺 A pub at the end!

I think that might have been the quickest pint decision I’ve made all week. 😂

By the time we finally made it back to Dublin and rejoined the cruise flow of the day, my phone announced the grand total:

👣 19,729 steps!!

My feet were definitely questioning my shore excursion planning choices by then. 😱😂

But Howth? Absolutely worth a visit. Fresh sea air, fishing boats, gorgeous coastal scenery and a completely different feel from the centre of Dublin — all just a short DART ride from the city and very doable on a cruise stop.

💡 Tip for getting around Dublin:
If you’re here for a few days, grab a Leap Card from the bus station or a local Spar shop. You can use it on buses, trams Luas and the DART train, and it makes getting around so much easier and cheaper\! 🇮🇪🚋
