Heritage Open Days 2025 has begun! 12-21 September.
There are lots of exciting heritage properties to explore, here are a few local highlights:

📍🗺️ Ditchling
15th - 20th September
Pruden and Smith are hosting 'The Past Lives of a Jewellery Workshop', a workshop tour that explores the diverse history of their Victorian workshop and gallery building: from butcher's shop to printing press.
In celebration of the Heritage Open Days 2025 theme of Architecture, will also be exhibiting architecture-inspired Jewellery by a guest designer, Susan Jane Dunford ().

📍🗺️ Uckfield
Saturday 20th September
are running a special open day that will allow visitors to explore Bridge Cottage, to see the surviving parts of the original structure and understand how it has changed over the centuries. Bridge Cottage is a large high quality Wealden Hall house built around 1436, located in Uckfield High Street.

📍🗺️ Handcross
Friday 19th and Saturday 20th September
Enjoy free entry to Nymans Garden and House. Set in the stunning countryside of the Sussex Weald, Nymans is one of the National Trust's finest gardens, containing rare and unusual plant collections. The house, a partial ruin, reflects the personalities and stories of the creative Messel family.

Have a Hands-on Harvest at Artelium 🥂 🍇 🍷

Step into the heart of harvest season and join the Artelium Wine Estate picking crew for a rewarding, meditative, and community-focused experience. You'll help hand-harvest grapes at their vineyards in Madehurst and Streat, working closely with the team during one of the most exciting times of the winemaking year. The picking period will be approx. 15th September - 3rd October.

Rosie Mortimer - Divided Light | Artelium Wine Estate

Open weekends, 11am to 5pm, 6th to 21st September

Rosie Mortimer's exhibition at Artelium explores dualities. Utilising materials with elements of transparency, her pieces interrogate the notions of solidity & fragility, import & insignificance. These states of being are liminal, both there and not: simultaneously present and absent. This exhibition includes brand new ink-on-paper drawings alongside a new, large sculpture ‘Surface, Edge, Shadow,’ permanently installed on the Artelium Estate.

Artleium is also home to Skelton Workshops who will be exhibiting work made by their students.
