Led by a highly experienced crew, you’ll explore areas of the historic prison after dark, take part in paranormal experiments and use specialist investigation equipment as you search for evidence of the unexplained.

Do you have the courage to play Hide & Seek inside the dark and haunting corridors of the former HMP Dorchester?

The evening begins with an introduction to Dorchester Prison’s gruesome past as a hanging prison—including the stories of those executed there and the bodies that remain buried within the prison grounds.

Then the doors close, the lights go out and the game begins…

Every shadow could conceal another player—or something far more unsettling. With eerie cells, pitch-black corridors and stories of ghostly encounters, this is no ordinary game of Hide & Seek.

Hide and Seek in a Disused Prison.

Next game : 27th March 2026
Duration 3 hours approx

3 GAMES SPREAD OVER DIFFERENT ZONES.
The main player, the “seeker,” will be decided At Random from player numbers. The seeker will then count to 100 whilst other players go and find hiding places in the pitch black, cells, kitchens, corridors, Chapel and Workshops. It's all fair game. Once the countdown finishes, the seeker will try and find them. If found, you will join the seeker to hunt out the remaining players. Good luck!

First Game will be in total darkness and limited to ground floor only.

as we progress the games more of the prison will be opened up.

Social media lives and fancy dress are fully recommended.

FREE PARKING ON SITE Drive through the small gates on North Square. GO PAST the car park on the right, following the walls of the prison, past the row of 4 terraced houses and you will find the entrance gate on the other side of the prison.
Please arrive 10 mins before your booking.

Wrap up warm. Bring a torch.

Tickets are still available for our unique tours of Dorchester Prison. See the jail from the inside, and learn about life behind bars - from Georgian times up to the modern day. Our experienced guide Ed is a serving Prison Officer who spent a decade walking the landings of this old Victorian prison. You can also walk on the set of many great movies!
If seeing it in the daylight is not exciting enough, join us on our legendary Ghost Tours. A special tour to all the darkest parts, while listening to eerie tales and stories to make you shudder. You never know - you may meet some of our ghostly residents!
And if that's not scary enough - join us on our Ghost Hunt. We invite first-timers and seasoned hunters, sceptics and believers. All you need is a torch and some steely nerves....
