Enjoy a great day out on the bus for just £2 this bank holiday weekend! 🙌🚌 Single fares are still only £2 on many local bus routes, including the Sixes, X17 that pass through Matlock Bath (pictured).

Visiting us this weekend? This looks fab!

This weekend, 25 - 27 May, we're hosting our first Family Festival in the Chatsworth Garden! You can learn bushcraft, archery, kite-making and circus skills, or take part in a musical safari, water super soaker battle, and mini Olympics. Popular children’s authors and illustrators, Lydia Monks and Bethan Woollvin, will be staging draw-along and storytelling sessions, and you can join artist Abigail Reynolds for kaleidoscope and periscope making workshops. Entry to the festival is included with house and garden or garden tickets, and all activities are free.

The Ashford Arms a 17th-century country pub in Ashford-in-the-Water, near Bakewell will open its doors on 9 March after being closed for four years 🍻🎉

Following a £1.6m refurbishment, the ground floor, nine hotel bedrooms, gardens and kitchen are in the final stages of a complete transformation 🍻

The restaurant is being turned into a warm, welcoming space, with beautiful design finishes that nod to the history of the building 🍴

It will cater for 107 diners with Raymond Blanc trained executive chef, Adrian Gagea, designing the menu, and multi-award-winning chef, Chris Parker, stepping up as head chef 👨‍🍳

The premium pub menu will feature pub classics with a modern twist alongside dishes inspired by the team’s travels and world flavours 🌿

Menus will change according to the season, and what is being grown nearby, with ingredients supplied by local farms, heritage brewers and artisan producers. The pub will serve breakfast, lunch (including Sunday lunch), and dinner 🥘

The Ashford Arms is the third venue in the Longbow Bars and Restaurants group, owned by Rob Hattersley (pictured).

It joins The George, an award-winning historic bar, restaurant and hotel in Hathersage, and The Maynard, an award-winning wedding venue, restaurant and hotel in Grindleford.
