🌊Flash Flood!

On Friday night Mother Nature showed her wrath in a highly localised fashion turning our little river (The Dane’s Brook) into a raging torrent. Fields briefly became lakes, trees were uprooted, fencing destroyed and even our poor little bridge was washed away!

Let’s hope that are forthcoming in rebuilding the bridge. In the meantime, the footpath remains open for those with wellies!

💦 POOL’S OPEN 💦

…but you won’t find chlorine, or a lifeguard named Dave here. No need to put a towel on your deckchair either - it's usually a pretty peaceful slice of wilderness. Just fresh Exmoor spring water and some dragonflies on patrol.

We spent the day moving our hens and cockerel Tim to their new home. Surrounded by an electric fence, we hope it deters Mr 🦊 from making an unwelcome visit. An endless bounty of fresh eggs awaits all our visitors

HORSES

Some say that you haven’t been on a proper riding holiday until you have visited Exmoor.

From , the countryside is awash with bridal-ways in every direction. Exmoor National Park boasts some of the country’s finest hacking: Molland, The Tarr Steps, East Anstey Common, The Barle Valley and Withypool Common are all accessible from our front door without the need to box up. Horses are genuinely spoilt for choice, not only with the plethora of amazing hacks, but also a number of horse-friendly pubs and tearooms in the vicinity. For the more active, hunting takes place 5 days a week during the season.

We have four stables and a secure flat paddock with some incredible views. Dining options include our very own grass (all you can eat) and Exmoor’s finest borehole water is on tap. For the two-legged owners, we have 4 beautiful self-catered cottages of different shapes and sizes.

For those who are worried about navigating or getting lost, fear not. We have a number of excellent routes that are loaded onto a GPS tracker that we can lend you resulting in the perfect stress-free experience.
