THE NORTHERN LIGHTS!

What a display above Hawkridge last night captured by our lovely guests in Smiddy Cottage. We are fortunate enough to live in a dark sky reserve giving us some truly epic nighttime views. Fuelled with gin to give them staying power, our night owls in Smiddy captured this wonderful picture at 1am.

HORSES

Some say that you haven’t been on a proper riding holiday until you have visited Exmoor.

From , the countryside is awash with bridal-ways in every direction. Exmoor National Park boasts some of the country’s finest hacking: Molland, The Tarr Steps, East Anstey Common, The Barle Valley and Withypool Common are all accessible from our front door without the need to box up. Horses are genuinely spoilt for choice, not only with the plethora of amazing hacks, but also a number of horse-friendly pubs and tearooms in the vicinity. For the more active, hunting takes place 5 days a week during the season.

We have four stables and a secure flat paddock with some incredible views. Dining options include our very own grass (all you can eat) and Exmoor’s finest borehole water is on tap. For the two-legged owners, we have 4 beautiful self-catered cottages of different shapes and sizes.

For those who are worried about navigating or getting lost, fear not. We have a number of excellent routes that are loaded onto a GPS tracker that we can lend you resulting in the perfect stress-free experience.

GROUP GATHERINGS….

… are something that we believe we are pretty good at.
We have four beautiful adjoining cottages in a stunning spot on Exmoor that can comfortably sleep 18 adults.

Our large south-facing patio with jaw-dropping views is the ideal spot to enjoy a sun-downer together. If you prefer a playground, hot-tub, picnic in our secret spot, yomp across the moor or dip in the river, we have you covered!

After dark, our dining space with vaulted ceiling, multiple wood burners and comfortable living spaces will keep the party going well into the early hours.
