The bit you don’t always see behind the adventures…

Same-day changeovers can be a bit of a race against the clock! From fresh blankets and neatly folded towels to a spotless kitchen, fully stocked essentials and even making sure the tyre trim is looking its best — the little details really matter to us.

That’s why our return time is 11am and arrival is from 2pm. Those few hours give us the time to properly clean, check and prepare every part of the camper, so the next guests can begin their adventure feeling like it was prepared especially for them.

We want every Highland Roamers trip to feel premium, personal and cared for from the moment you enquire until the moment you hand back the keys.

We’ve been a little quieter on socials recently… but certainly not behind the scenes! It’s been a busy summer filled with brilliant adventures. 🚐🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Mary, Iain and their lovely girls recently headed off in Glen Roamer, making the most of some beautiful Scottish weather. Paddleboarding on Loch Earn, toasted marshmallows around the fire pit and breathtaking views through Glencoe — the perfect family campervan adventure! 🏄‍♀️🔥⛰️

The Coombs Clan’s surprise adventure in Ben Roamer was one to remember. 💚

What an epic Scottish road trip…
📍Glencoe ➡️ Isle of Skye ➡️ Glenfinnan ➡️ Fort William ➡️ Loch Lomond

Two kids, one adventurous dog 🐶, a paddle board, a surprise 40th birthday, and a whole lot of adventure spirit.

It’s journeys like these that remind us why we started Highland Roamers. Seeing families create memories together in some of Scotland’s most incredible places is what it’s all about.

As first-time visitors to Scotland, we loved helping plan their route and recommending campsites and hidden gems along the way. Every trip is a little different, and helping shape those adventures is one of our favourite parts of the job.

We welcomed Lisa Swiatek and her lovely family for a 10 day trip in Glen Roamer, at the start of the school summer holidays.

We loved hearing about their trip and the adventures they went on, even more so because they went to some beautiful, slightly less visited places. Including the highly recommended campsite in Crail . Amazing facilities and right on the costal path. Outdoor heated swimming pool too!

They also included wetsuits, paddle board and fire pit too! Really making the most of the Adventure spirit we like to see.

Ever grateful for the kindest words they left in the review too 🙏

7 days. Isle of Skye road trip 🚐🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Day 1 – Loch Lomond
Settle into campervan life with lochside views and a sunset paddleboard session.

Day 2 – Glencoe
Follow the A82 north, stopping at waterfalls, viewpoints and the iconic Three Sisters.

Day 3 – Fort William & Glenfinnan
Wake beneath Ben Nevis, visit the Glenfinnan Viaduct and finish with a fire pit evening.

Day 4 – Isle of Skye
Cross the Skye Bridge, stop at Sligachan and explore the famous Fairy Pools.

Day 5 – Discover Skye
Take in the Old Man of Storr, the Quiraing, Portree and some of Scotland’s wildest scenery.

Day 6 – Journey south
Break up the drive with stops at Eilean Donan Castle, Loch Cluanie and Fort Augustus.

Day 7 – Final morning
Enjoy one last peaceful Highland stop before returning to base.

Big views, brilliant roads and plenty of moments worth stopping for.

From crossing iconic Kylesku bridge to waking up beside quiet beaches, the North Coast 500 has a way of making you slow down and appreciate the places between the destinations.

Whether it’s your first NC500 or you’re coming back for another lap, Scotland always has something new waiting around the next bend.

Some adventures are on another level…

Ben Roamer has just returned from supporting something pretty incredible.

Our customer Brian took on the Way of the Glen — a brutal 170-mile ultramarathon from Glasgow to Inverness. This year, he wasn’t just a finisher. He was the only participant to complete the course, setting a new course record along the way.

For 45 hours of continuous running, his support crew travelled alongside him in Ben Roamer, meeting him at checkpoints with food, water, warmth, and a chance to regroup before heading back out.

What an achievement. The result of months (and years) of commitment, resilience and determination.

We’re proud that Highland Roamers could play a small part in such an inspiring journey.

Not every Highland Roamers adventure involves running 170 miles… thankfully! Whether you’re chasing a world-class challenge or simply slowing down to explore Scotland, we’re here to help you make the most of the journey.

The Scottish school holidays have finally arrived… ☀️

For us, there’s something about this time of year that always feels different. The routine slows down, the days get longer, and suddenly there’s time to chase sunsets instead of schedules.

These moments are what Highland Roamers is all about. Pulling into a quiet spot with a view, waking up to mountains outside your window, finding a hidden beach, or stopping somewhere unexpected simply because it looked too good to drive past.

Scotland has a way of reminding you that the best memories are rarely the ones you planned.

Whether you’re setting off for two nights or two weeks, we hope this summer gives you plenty of adventures, plenty of laughs, and plenty of stories to tell.
