The Last White Star Line Ship: SS Nomadic 🚢⚓️ (SS stands for Steamship)

Stepping into living history! ⚓️

Did you know the SS Nomadic is the last remaining White Star Line vessel in the world? Built in 1911 right here in Belfast, she served as the luxurious original tender ship designed to ferry 1st and 2nd class passengers—including John Jacob Astor and Margaret "Molly" Brown—out to the RMS Titanic in Cherbourg. 🚢✨
Often called the "mini Titanic," she was built by Thomas Andrews using the exact same lavish woodwork, plasterwork, and craftsmanship as her famous sister ship. Today, she rests proudly in Hamilton Dock in Belfast's Titanic Quarter. 🗺️📸

Once known as Ruthven Castle, this 15th-century fortress has witnessed royal abductions, legendary leaps, and centuries of Scottish history. 🏰✨

Tucked away near Perth, it’s famous for the legendary "Maiden’s Leap"—where Dorothea Ruthven allegedly jumped a 9-foot gap between the top of the two towers to hide her secret lover—and the Ruthven Raid of 1582, where the young King James VI was held captive for almost a year. 🗡️👑

Today, the two once-separate towers are joined together, holding onto centuries of secret stories, painted ceilings, and quiet trails to explore. 🌿📜
