Probably the best Easter decorations I've ever seen outside a wine shop in Mayfair, London seen in March 2026. One passing dog sniffed every chicken to make sure none of them were real.

Incredible news for the Keillor Centre, it has been announced the existing building will be transformed into Space Station Keillor a laser tag venue like no other.

Due to the current floor plan of back to back shops and metal shutters, just by removing some internal walls it will be possible to create different mazes each week by opening different shutters to produce shorts cuts between the main thoroughfares.

Not only will there be red team vs blue team events but also fancy dress nights: survivors vs zombies or space marines vs alien events. An amazing venue suitable for stag nights, hen nights and corporate team building.

Newly formed Lirpa loof ltd are beyond excited to share this new visitor attraction with Tayside.

Sadly today is April the 1st and this is an April Fool and it will sadly never happen unless you have a couple of million handy and want to try to buy it from the current owners.

On a brighter note when I was eight my teacher told my class about the Lirpa loof tree that grew upside down with its roots in the air and its leaves under ground. The entire class were taken in but I was sceptical and asked what about the chlorophyll? I had been given a children’s encyclopedia for Christmas and precocious me had read it cover to cover. That afternoon the teacher spilled the beans.

Luxury train Midland Pullman passing through Invergowrie today.
The Midland Pullman was Britain's first luxury high speed diesel-electric train running in the early 1960's from London to Manchester. Now this train travels all around the UK.

I spotted her at Dundee Station and got a few photos before I boarded my train home, and then found out this distinctive train was about to pass through Invergowrie a few minutes later.

A few photos of paddlesteamer Waverley visiting the Port of Dundee today for refueling. She is the world's last seagoing paddle steamer. She was built on the Clyde in 1947 and was saved from scrapping in 1974 when she was gifted to the Paddle Steamer Preservation Society.
She left Ayr on the other side of Scotland a couple of days ago and has almost circumnavigated the coast of Scotland. Whereas the fuel tanker took a much shorter land route from Campbeltown.

Her last visit to Dundee was in 1982 so I’m glad I got the chance to see her.

Have you seen a jackup waltz?
Its when tugs spin a jack up drill rig around, you can see it in this timelapse footage of Valaris 92 arriving to the Port of Dundee on Thursday evening. Great work by Skandi Lifter (Maersk Lifter) and tugs Camperdown, Kittiwake, Targe Guillemot, Delicay IV (Balmerino).

A sneak peak at a new artwork in Dundee
What does Dundee have in common with South Georgia?
Whaling, and you can find out all about it at Whale of a Weekend
Thursday 26th to Sunday 29th of June
This artwork called Commensalis was created by Scottish artist Michael Visocchi* and is made of Corten steel and recycled rivets from the Stromness whaling Station. Each rivet represents 50 whales in remembrance of the 175,000 whales captured at South Georgia between 1905 and 1965.

This artwork will be on display outside the V&A for the weekend before it heads to South Georgia to be part of a whaling memorial. Please note the artwork is currently wrapped up but I think it will be on display noon on Thursday.

It will be a new stop on the Dundee Engineering Tour on Saturday 28th of June 3.30 - 4.45 pm
